Manage episode 398586171 series 3495183
Tune in to Know The Scene with the mastermind behind Cain Center for the Arts, Justin Dionne, and the visionary Simone El Bey, Director of Visual Arts and Education. Join this dynamic duo as they pull back the curtains on not one, but two mesmerizing art exhibitions—"Homegrown" and its youthful counterpart, "Homegrown Jr.," along with the handpicked gems of "Director's Choice."
"Homegrown" is a riot of colors and forms, an annual mixed media gala celebrating the untamed creativity of our local artists. Breaking free from the norms of juried exhibits, it's a canvas where artistic spirits run wild, creating a visual symphony of community expression.
For the first time ever, Cain Center for the Arts introduces "Homegrown Jr.," offering a vibrant platform for budding artists aged 10-16 to showcase their imaginative prowess—a testament to the inclusive spirit of Cain Center.
And that's not all! Enter the world of "Director's Choice," where Simone El Bey curates a special exhibit featuring beloved local artists who resonate deeply with the mission of Cain Center. This carefully selected group shares not just a love for visual arts but a commitment to community impact.
Join the celebration at the free opening reception on February 2 from 6:30-8:30 pm at Cain Center for the Arts. Immerse yourself in this artistic feast, knowing that 50% of the proceeds from "Director's Choice" will fuel Cain Center’s Community Impact Programs, while the other 50% supports the local visual arts community.
Mark your calendars for the special free Artist Talk on February 23, where you can hear directly from the featured artists. It's not just an art exhibit; it's a celebration of creativity, community, and the visual symphony that is Cain Center for the Arts.
