Small businesses across the country are struggling through the pandemic. New York City may have been hit harder than any other city in the United States. While certain industries have survived this season of shut downs, the world of entertainment has been especially hit hard.
Dani Zoldan is the co-owner of Stand Up NY, a comedy club in Manhattan. But they aren't sitting by just hoping that one day someone will rescue them. Instead the team at Stand Up NY has been creating unique solutions to the shut down. From pop up shows on the back of pick up trucks to shows in Central Park to shows on subway cars, they are helping the mental health of individuals all throughout the city while giving comics an outlet to share their gifts.
But Dani hasn't stopped there. He has been a voice for small business sharing his story and the story of other businesses on media both locally and in the US. Beyond being a voice for small business and comedy he has also helped to bring resources to comics in the city. Most recently he is helping comedians find health care for their needs with a partnership with Kamin Health.
In today's episode we talk about small business, health care, comedy, government, and navigating the complex times of Covid-19.
