17. Rabbi Dr. JJ Schacter - Not Sacrificing Our Children
Manage episode 321108194 series 3003578
“Do not slaughter your children on the alter of the Jewish people” Find out what Rav JJ Schacter, the Senior Scholar at Yeshiva University’s CJF, means by this, and what he thinks the core of parenting is in this week’s episode.
Rav JJ Schacter is a well known speaker and was a long time Rav in the Jewish center and other communities and continues to give over in the field by training the next rabbi’s going into rabbanus. It is fascinating to hear that such a well polished, and world renowned speaker who is known for his expertise in history and sheer brilliance, had difficulty when he was younger, and how his mother’s faith in him, helped him so much, which is what helped formulate Rav Schacter opinion on the core of parenting. Rav Schacter gives a strong mussar to all educators, and really all parents about the time we spend with our children. Rav Schacter ends off with a really strong line, which is really the whole idea behind this podcast, so it’s great to know we are in good company.
