God’s guidance often comes in unexpected ways.
Today’s daily devotional is about the Three Wise Men visiting Jesus. They follow a star to Bethlehem, offering gifts to the newborn King. Meanwhile, Joseph, warned by God, flees to Egypt with his family to escape King Herod's deadly decree. This story highlights God’s protection and the recognition of Jesus as the Messiah.

When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.

Have you ever felt drawn to something greater, something that required faith and courage to pursue?
The wise men from the south felt this pull as they followed a star, seeking the prophesied King of the Jews. Their journey led them to King Herod’s palace, where they inquired about the newborn King. Herod, threatened by the prophecy, deceitfully directed them to Bethlehem, plotting to kill Jesus.
What can we learn from the wise men's perseverance in their journey?
Their determination and faith were unwavering as they followed the star to Jesus. When they found Him, they worshiped and presented gifts that symbolized His kingship, divinity, and sacrificial death. Gold, frankincense, and myrrh were not just valuable items; they proclaimed Jesus' future impact on the world.
How do you recognize and honor Jesus in your daily life?
Just as the wise men brought gifts, we are called to offer our lives and resources to honor Him. Meanwhile, Joseph’s obedience to God’s warning in a dream ensured Jesus’ safety from Herod’s massacre. His prompt action to flee to Egypt highlights the importance of heeding God’s guidance and protection in times of danger.
How can Joseph's trust in God's direction inspire your own faith journey?
Joseph’s faith and quick response saved Jesus and fulfilled God’s plan. This story teaches us to trust in God’s provision and to act promptly on His guidance. It reminds us that even in perilous times, God is sovereign and His plans are perfect.

Father, as You begin to move through my life I thank You that like the story in Matthew to You are sending signs and signals to wise men and women who are called to bring gifts and resources into my life to help accomplish my purpose. I thank You that as they come they will be continued confirmation that Your provision and Your protection will never run out on the journey of my destiny. When others seek to destroy me like king Herod, I declare that You will supernaturally give me the indicators of when it's time for me to leave the place or the relationships that I'm currently with. I declare that no harm will come to me or those I love, I declare that safety is all around me. I am protected and covered by Your Love and I am forever grateful to be Your child Lord. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
