Barry first found music when he borrowed his sister's record collection when he was about eight and was hooked. When Caroline started it was a new beginning, and he listened to all the stations, but Caroline was his favourite by far. Later he became a singer in a band, then started doing discos when he was 18. Amazingly, after 12 years of doing this podcast, we've never done a full track-by-track analysis of the Paul McCartney and Wings 1973 album, Band on the Run. We give an overview of the album's genesis and history, go through the songs, discuss the many reissues, landing on the 50th anniversary edition (with the "underdubbed" mixes) released in February 2024. Is it Paul's best album?
We also discuss some upcoming Beatles-related releases for Record Store Day, a new Sean Lennon album, and the relaunch of our video podcast.
