Nella scorsa puntata abbiamo parlato del Green New Deal. Il Piano della Commissione che vuole mobilitare 1000 miliardi di euro per convertire l’economia dell’Unione verso un modello più sostenibile. La transizione ecologica però, potrà portare con sé anche degli svantaggi. Soprattutto per quelle regioni le cui economie sono più dipendenti dai combustibili fossili. Per evitare che queste regioni divengano periferiche e per ammortizzare i costi sociali della transizione ecologica la Commissione UE metterà in moto il Just Transition Mechanism, che metterà in modo investimenti pubblici e privati per 100 miliardi di euro. Il Meccanismo porta però in dote solo 7.5 miliardi di risorse nuove, e in molti di domandano se basteranno a garantire una transizione giusta.
