HOODOO CAST: Podcast for Authentic Hoodoo - Akan Ancestral Religion in North America
Odwirafo is in Washington DC to dialogue with Nijma Esad, line producer and narrator for the upcoming documentary film Takes a Village: Trauma, Triggered, Truth. This film examines mental health in the African-American community, inclusive of therapeutic interventions rooted in Ancestral Religious practice. We discuss the contrast between conventional western therapy and the ritual practice of Okraguare: Soul-washing. This is the cleansing of the Spiritual head in Akan culture which is preserved in Hoodoo in North America. We also discuss Ancestral Shrine communication, reincarnation and spiri-genetic inheritance in Hoodoo.
