Welcome back to A Pod of Their Own, an all-women led Home Run Applesauce podcast where we talk all things Mets, social justice issues in baseball, and normalize female voices in the sports podcasting space.

This week, we begin by discussing the Mets continuing to roll and winning series, mostly thanks to their hot offense (sans Jeff McNeil, who we are concerned about).

But this weekend’s series ended on a sour note when Edwin Díaz was ejected for sticky stuff and is now facing a ten-game suspension. We rant about the lack of clarity and consistency when it comes to the sticky stuff rules and talk about what Díaz’s absence means for the Mets moving forward.

Next, we honor the legendary Willie Mays and reflect on the unmatched legacy he leaves behind for the game of baseball.

We then discuss the latest in the Diamond Sports Group bankruptcy saga and what it means for fans who just want to watch baseball.

Finally, we wrap things up with Walk-off Wins, where each of us talks about what’s making us happy this week, baseball-related or otherwise.

You can listen or subscribe to all of our wonderful Home Run Applesauce podcasts through Apple Podcasts, where we encourage you to leave a review if you enjoy the show. It really helps! And you can find us on the Stitcher app, Spotify, or listen wherever you get podcasts. You can also support our work by subscribing to our Patreon, which will get you bonus episodes, access to our Discord server, livestream experiences, an exclusive monthly playlist, and more!
