061: Online Personal Branding For Newbies

If you're interested in listening to this, it means that you know the importance of personal branding. Great! You are already one step ahead of others.

There are three points that you have to understand when establishing your personal brand.

The first point is to find a positioning. When you go out and introduce yourself on the internet, you have to have something in mind. Are you a magician? Are you an insurance agent? Before you brand yourself, find your identity. The Japanese concept called "Ikigai" is good for that.

Next, you've got to understand The Blue Ocean concept. We are all fishing in the same ocean; fighting for customers in the same industry. Remove yourself from the competition and go niche. Make yourself an expert that only provides one thing and make sure you're damn good at it. When you're the best of the best in a niche field, people will go to you.

Finally, you can create a system to create content. One piece of content can be transformed into many shorter forms of content. A video can be turned into a gif or a screenshot. Export the audio separately and you've got a podcast!
