DJ Diva Dee's Music Notes: The 1990's supergoup "Lucy Pearl" consisted of 3 very talented artists who were each a member of R&B and Hip Hop groups. Raphael Saadiq (former member of Tony! Tonie! Tone!) and D'Angelo created "Lucy Pearl". D'Angelo unfortunately was not able to move forward with the group however Dawn Robinson (fromer member of En Vogue) and Ali Shaheed Muhammad (former member of A Tribe Called Quest) together formed "Lucy Pearl". The group released their self-titled debut album "Lucy Pearl" in 2000. "Dance Tonight", a single from that album earned them a Grammy Award nomination for "best R&B Vovla Performance by a Duo or Group" and an American Music Awards nomination for Best R&B/Soul Single- Group, Band or Duo.
