Hopes for 2019

Epsidoe 34 of Gaming Couch! I'm still going strange talking to myself and into a microphone! I jest, but really, I'm happy with myself to keep this going and getting things uploaded.
Anyway, wanted to take a step back today. I know we're in the 3rd month of the year and I am only now saying 'Hopes for 2019'. That's because I am seriously worried right now with what we have going on. Nothing is really sticking out as a great new game. Many games are disappointing and even just a sequel or retry at the same old idea. Always another FPS game coming out, always someone taking a stab at an RPG style game. Rogue-likes seem to have fully run their course, seeing Into The Breach, Enter the Gungeon, Slay the Spire, Crypt of the Necrodancer, and Darkest Dungeon coming out relatively close to one another. I know thats a long list and that's exactly my point. We got a lot in a short time and now it seems people are taking a break from that style.
What about a good immersive and atmospheric type game? Not 'VR immersive' but a 'Damn, that game made me feel some feels and was an experience' type of immersive. What about another Furi type game? A good boss rush style game that focuses on you vs the boss without any trash fights or level management to slow things down.
I hope we see a mix up in the genres this year or even the next and get dev teams that really give us something new.
