This episode we are talking about Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022), written and directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinhert.
This surreal tale follows Evelyn (Michelle Yeoh), a laundromat owner who is being audited by the IRS following her tax return. Dodging divorce papers from her husband, Waymond (Ke Huy Quan), and failing to connect with her daughter, Joy (Stephanie Hsu-Joy Wang), Evelyn is swept up in an insane adventure, in which she alone can save the world by exploring other universes connecting with the alternate lives she could have led.
In this episode, we try to unravel how they made such an impactful action film on a freakishly small budget.
Next week, we’ll be getting into the Christmas spirit and discussing Love Actually (2003), written and directed by Richard Curtis, available to stream on Amazon Prime.
