We are so honored to have Ms. Genecia Alluora. She has the most incredible origin stories. She is a former beauty queen (2006/2007 Singapore Miss Universe) and the Founder of Soul Rich Woman; South East Asia's leading network for female entrepreneurs connecting over 11,000 women and 200,000 subscribers across the region. She is also a successful business owner. She started a cafe retail chain and expanded it to three different countries with 18 franchises.

Where it all started

Things didn't seem to be as rosy as they are nowadays. Young Genecia had to support herself since she was 14 years old. Her family didn't have a good financial situation. To support her family and pay for her tuition, she teaches yoga, aerobics, and country line dancing. She was bullied by mean girls in her school. She was constantly mocked by them and it really affected her entire mindset.

(3:48-4:24) But my Mom was my pillar of support. She told me to turn my mess into my message. And to add that on, because I was the youngest instructor back in those days in Singapore and they, a lot of students, they were like, telling me “ Genecia, what can you teach us. You’re so young. You’re only 16. You’re nowhere near our age. What do you know about health and, you know, live sell?” And I couldn’t handle criticisms.

(4:40-4:47) You see this piece serves as a foundation for me because of all the trials and tribulations I have gone through.

(5:44-5:51) So from having nothing to being a winner on stage really transformed my life. So that in itself came to a point where my image consultancy business came to a standstill. I’m going to throw that away and move forward to go online.

(6:05) so I found a mentor who kind of guided me and showed me my blind spots and taught me what I do not know.

(6:24-6:44) I was literally everywhere. And to take the humble pie to say, “ okay, I don’t know what I don’t know. I have to learn. I am willing to learn”. And by this mentality, I was able to breakthrough. Look past beyond what I can’t see and was able to move effectively online.

(7:42-8:00) So I really believed that putting yourself in an environment where you could learn from the best by hiring a mentor as what I did could really shortcut your success. So eventually I started Soul Rich Women and that journey has been amazing.

Selecting A Mentor

(14:32-15:00) If you want a mentor who really wants to guide you. You have to go out there and seek for one and you must be willing to invest in yourself. Are you open to receive criticisms about your own shortcomings? And not allowing your mentor to sugarcoat words so that you feel good just because you paid him/her to be a mentor.

These are the important things to remember when selecting a mentor according to Ms. Genecia Alluora.

1. You must look for someone who has the results that you want.
2. You must be open to receive and be open to listen, not just on the superficial but really listen of a soul. What is it that they are speaking to you?
3. You can’t expect your mentor to swim the swim for you.

Soul Rich Women connecting from Zero to 200,000 women

(18:51-19:11) Before we hit 200,000 we were at zero. I think that’s the thing that always people look at the results but they forget how we got there, right? So I had failed in a lot of memberships that I’ve created.

By traveling to different Southeast Asia Countries for almost 2-3 years. Like three weeks in Malaysia, three weeks in Vietnam, three weeks in the Philippines, Ms. Genecia came back to Singapore and realized things.

(19:57-20:05) I discovered that women had a low earning social-economic status throughout the different countries.

(20:14-20:28) How can we support these women to own and love the F-word within their comfort range so that they could eventually progress? So we had eventually came to a number which was 12 dollars a month membership.

(20:39-21:08) And that’s when we had all the numbers. So it was not by my singular effort. It was through two main philosophies. I would say the first one was to love your customer more than you love your product. Number two is to really build your trust score because women tend to, we are a bit more skeptical and sometimes less trusting especially if it’s online and you really want to build that momentum.

(25:06-25:12) We are a Southeast Asia Female Entrepreneur Platform but we have already gone international.

(26:54-27:11) I think the first one is Podcasting. The second one is Live Streaming. The third one is how do you create an online course. The fourth one is Digital Marketing. And the last one is how do you build your brand online and be confident about it.

(48:39-49:03) All these things would not have been done if not for that piece of authenticity and being real to myself. What is my true calling? So that’s Soul word comes into play. Be a Soul Rich Woman. So once you’re aligned with your soul, that’s when the richness manifests both from the inside as well as the outside.

Picking your own Platform

(54:07-54:14) You really have to remember, love your customers more than you love your product. So really identify where your customers are at.

(54:32) Define your own strategy.

(55:11-55:20) So if you decide that TikTok is not for you because “video” is not for you si be it. You don’t have to be there just because someone said you must be there.
