You Do Not Have, Because You Do Not Ask. This is Robert Woeger, and I'm speaking today about James chapter 4, verse 2, where God puts the first condition down about asking. And that is, you do not have, because you do not ask.
So many people do not receive what they want from God, or what they're asking or desiring from God, because they have not asked Him for it. They have not professed it with their mouth. They might have thought it in their minds, or wished for it somehow.
But that's different than asking God for something. So, again, James 4, verse 2 says, you do not have, because you do not ask. And then let's go to James 4, verse 3, and God puts a condition upon asking.
So first we have to ask, and then second, what we need to do. Here in James 4, verse 3, it says, And when you do ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may squander it on your pleasures. So anything you ask of God must be asked for with right motives that line up with God's Perfect Will. If you ask according to God's Word, you're always going to be in His Perfect Will. Get before God, receive what His Will is on a particular matter, and then speak it. Ask for that thing from God.
Ask for it with a pure heart, with right motives that line up with God's Will. And then expect God to fulfill it. Because we find in 1 John 5, verses 14 and 15, And this is the confidence that we have before Him. If we ask anything according to His Will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we already possess what we have asked of Him. What a promise from God! I'm going to read it again.
Let this soak into your soul, into your spirit. And this is the confidence, the assurance, that we have before Him, before God. If we ask anything according to His Will, He hears us. It's a promise. If we ask according to His Will, God will hear us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we already possess what we have asked of Him, because we have asked Him in His correct, proper manner, according to His Will, speaking it audibly. This should bring you great hope. Many people do not receive things in life, first, because they don't ask. Second, because they don't ask according to God's Perfect Will. They ask according to their own selfish desires or lusts or pleasures. And third, many people don't believe that God really exists or that He hears them. So, we have to ask in faith, expecting that He hears us. For The Bible says that without faith it's impossible to please God. He that comes to God must believe that He exists, that God exists, and believe that He's a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Please God today with your faith, with your asking according to His Perfect Will, and then add one more thing on top of that.
Do not waver in your faith, because in the book of James it says that a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways, and that he shouldn't expect to receive anything of The Lord. So, you should not expect to receive anything of God if you waver in your faith, if you doubt, or if you flip-flop on your faith. You need to maintain your faith, so that you can receive from God from whatever you're asking for, that you've asked according to his will, and then maintain your faith without wavering, and then expect God to answer and manifest what you've asked for according to faith.
This is a great promise from God's Word. Many people do this wrong and don't receive from God, but do it right. Ask, make sure you ask, and then ask in faith, expecting to receive, do not waver, and then watch God Manifest what you're asking of Him in faith. God bless you. This is Robert Woeger. You do not have because you do not ask.
And you do not have because you ask amiss. So, ask properly, and get these promises from God's Word so in your spirit, that you'll believe them with your whole heart. God bless you!
