This week I share about my medical history with stress and how it has manifested in my body over the years. From getting tummy aches when I was in elementary because of bad notes home to almost dying from a brain hemorrhage in 2011 to a frozen shoulder due to unbearable stress- I share my story to be a mirror for you. Maybe my story sounds familiar to you and you have been experiencing something similar. Maybe it's not just a tummy ache or a acne breakout...look at what is stressing you in your life that maybe showing up in your body. This is your reminder to pay attention to the alarms your body is giving you and to not ignore them because it can be fatal. Culturally, whether Latino or Asian, we have normalized constant stress and keep on trucking. Culturally we normalized not going to the doctor and waiting till its unmanageable. Even Goddess's beloved bird, Peebo is ranting in the background. We are all pissed! We share our feelings post Roe and we talk all aspects of how this decision affects women in the United States and essentially how we think we got here. I never had an episode like this where I felt safe enough to discuss topics like this but one thing I am super passionate about is women's rights and keeping the government out of our vaginas. At the end of the day, this ruling only inspires me to hold even bigger space to hold healing conversations and to support BIPOC communities as best as I know how. This week, I share my grief story and how celebrating Dia de Los Muertos has been very healing as I mourn my family members that have passed on. I also bring to light that on my birthday day this year, my Abuelito passed away and how I feel super honored that he transitioned on my actual birthday. Even though, I didn't have a relationship with him or got to grow up with him, I always longed for him to be a part of my life and I was making an more intentional effort to practice my Spanish for the day I got to go to Mexico and visit him. Although, meeting him will never happen now, I finally get to share something with him, September 8th. Even though, my family is devastated of his passing, I feel a bit closer to him because he earned his angel wings on my day of birth. This episode was near and dear to my heart. Beauty influencer and popular Youtube influencer Jenny 69 has been making big waves with the release of her song, La 69. I wanted to talk about this week because I've come across more hate and negative comments about her. Many comments surround her lack of talent and how other singers don't get any limelight because of artist like her. I beg to differ....this type of mentality is the exact reason why those artist are not exactly where they want to be. Someone else's success doesn't dim your light at all. I want to encourage, always, that instead of thinking "why her and not me" to reframe that to "if she can do it, I can do it too". It is essential to our own path and journey that we channel jealousy of what someone else is experiencing to turn that into excitement for your own journey. What's poppin' beautiful souls! I am back with a keep it absolutely 100% moment...I've been feeling all the feels and I couldn't bring myself to use the tools in my self healing toolbox to get out of the rabbit hole of worry I was in. Yup, I couldn't bring myself to do EFT Tapping, meditate, journal...none of it. I did however, process this with my therapist where she helped me come to the realization of just BEING. And it's ok that I was just in the thick of it. My tools felt like chores and I didn't feel like doing anything but hated being stuck. So I gave myself time to be patient. Patience to sit in what I was feeling and just being. Surely, I would make baby steps, sometimes big steps to calming that voice of panic, to calm the chronic worrying. Because my tools aren't for just when everything is falling apart...it helps even when I'm ok. The tools help the calm seasons last longer. The tools are also there in those moments when I'm coming out of the fog, to remind myself that what I'm currently feeling is temporary. Patience helps you see the way out of the rabbit hole. Being patient with your process instead of rushing through the motions reinforces your trust in your path.
