Philip Pullman once said: “After nourishment, shelter and companionship, stories are the thing we need most in the world.”
We have been telling stories for thousands of years, sharing them even before the invention of writing. Telling a story is a very influential method that lets you connect and deliver a message to your audience in a way that resonates and helps them understand at a deeper level.
What you may not know is that stories are an integral part of influence and persuasion.
Those in sales and marketing have known for a long time that stories trump data when it comes to persuasion because stories are easier to understand and relate to. A narrative uses both data and emotions which is way more effective in engaging a listener than just data alone.
But why start telling stories in the first place?
Stories are able to transport our mind to another place, they have the power to make us imagine and see beyond what is possible for us. As napoleon hill said if the mind can conceive it and believe it , it can achieve it. And stores are a way to make that happen.
So I invite you to join me on the journey as I speak to leading UK copywriter, author of 19 books and authority on making money with Kindle ebooks and Amazon paperbacks Chris Payne as he shares how stories can be used to connect with others to create meaningful connections both in your business and personal life.
