Diana Maurer has an inspiring personal story that demonstrates how important it is to be your true, authentic self and the power in sharing your personal experience with others. As the chair of the Alexandria LGBTQ+ Task Force, she builds bridges between the LGBTQ+ community and local government to ensure that all people feel respected across gender identity and sexual orientation. If you’re in the Alexandria area, join her for the city’s Pride month celebration on Saturday June 1 from 3-6pm to have some food and drinks, meet like-minded individuals, and grab some great Pride swag. And if you want to continue the celebration into the next day, you can join a morning 5k on June 2 – no promises that it will cure your hangover!
