This week we bring you a conversation with our friend Djordje (who's living in Macedonia) about the current state of MK politics. We start out discussing the previous government's efforts to remake Macedonian history through architecture (out with the brutalism in with the kitsch). Then we discuss the "Colorful Revolution," the recent(ish) elections, and the new government. Has anything really changed? Finally we get deep into "the name issue," with Greece. Which is the real Macedonia? How did this issue arise? What about the right to self-determination? Does anyone actually give a fuck about human rights? (Hint: not really). Hope you enjoy this dive into my little country in all its messy, balkan glory. <3 Linkzz: Medium essay by Anthony Bourdain on #MeToo, in which he effortlessly exemplifies how to speak up for women without making it about yourself: https://medium.com/@Bourdain/on-reacting-to-bad-news-28bc2c4b9adc We ride out to Bernays Propaganda's "Armija," check out their Bandcamp here: https://bernayspropaganda.bandcamp.com Pictured: Pastrmajlija (wonderful, delicious Macedonian "pizza") here's a recipe I found in english in case you want to try it for yourself: https://diethood.com/пастрмајлија-macedonian-pizza/
