Philippians 4:12-13 Through Christ -> The Power of Joyful Strength

Philippians 4:12-13 NLT-
“I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little.”
“For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”

Precursor ?This joy is in the context of a personal relationship, where we are focused on Jesus, receiving His love, following His instruction, and choosing daily to stay in contact with Him. From this great happiness, in Jesus, we draw strength. This can result in us loving each other with a faithful, patient, and kind love. A benefit of this is looking forward to eternity in Heaven.

Matthew 11:28-30

“For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”

Luke 68 (Zechariah’s Prophecy)

Through Christ ? It’s like doing things while ILLUMINATED!

Luke 4: Jesus being tempted in the desert

“Tell this stone to become a loaf of bread” ? Can overcome his most basic desires

“Worship me, and I will give you authority over all kingdoms” ? Can overcome need to rule/control others

“Jump off, and God will have to save you” ? Does not need to show power over His Father.

Through Christ ? It’s doing things with someone who does not need to PROVE HIMSELF

So what did we learn?

And How do We respond?

1. Let go and Let God (start Small)

2. Pray (Start Big)

3. Utilize Your Church!
