Showaddywaddy are one of the legendary bands who will soon be celebrating 50 years in the music industry. They are still performing across the land. Chris chats to Romeo Challenger, the only original member of the band who is still playing. Indeed, Romeo could have taken a different path in life... He played football alongside Peter Shilton and Jeff Blockley at schoolboy level. Romeo talks about his early influences in music, his first job, the formation of Showaddywaddy, early days on Top of the Pops and much much more!
Chris also reveals how it took almost 38 years to crack the interview with Showaddywaddy....a previous interview with the group, as a schoolboy, in 1984 went dramatically wrong!! All will be revealed during the show.
Showaddywaddy are due to play at the Waterfront Hall, Belfast on 11th June 2022.
