Yuliya Kovaliv arrived in Ottawa on March 9, 2022, just a few days after the invasion of Ukraine by Russia. The young Ukrainian ambassador to Canada was accompanied by her husband and their two children. With a degree in economics, Yuliya has had a stunning career in both the private and public sectors. She has served as the CFO of a major gas company, First Deputy Minister of Economy in the government, Chairwoman of Ukraine's largest company, and Deputy Minister under President Zelensky. One of her missions is to bring Ukraine closer to Europe. In this podcast, discover how she experiences the war as a mother, daughter, citizen, and ambassador.
