In 2005 Erin Cole-Baker and her husband Bruce discovered Bend OR after attending the Sisters Folk Festival. Erin called Central Oregon home for six years and, according to GO! Magazine, quickly established herself as “One of the more constant and compelling voices on the Central Oregon music scene.” After releasing two albums in the States, Erin and Bruce returned to New Zealand to raise a family. Recorded in Erin’s home studio with our longtime friend Erin Zurflu, We take a stroll down memory lane and learn how the Erin’s met, formed a lifelong friendship, became a staple in the Central Oregon music scene and ultimately how Erin Cole-Baker started a solo music career that brought her back to Central Oregon from New Zealand right at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. Known by those closest to her as always following her dreams and understanding the value in being vulnerable, Erin talks about the benefit of choosing to do things that are hard and challenging, knowing that’s when the magic happens. Erin and her band are starting to book gigs and play live shows after a long pause in live music due to the pandemic and she couldn’t be more thankful. Thanks for your time and authenticity Erin. I’m super proud of you and excited for you and your band as the future is looking bright.
