Dan and Tim are back to break down the 3-0 victory for Atlanta United FC against nextdoor neighbors Charlotte FC during Major League Soccer matchday 3 of the 2023 season. Though recent years may have cast doubt in the region, so far this season, Atlanta looks to regain its title as the only soccer royalty in the south with a win over the Queen City. In a shutout win, The 5-Stripes put on a show that no doubt has the fan-base all-in on this season’s outlook. Many will place an asterisk next to this as they have the other matches to start the season referencing Charlotte FC’s recent lacking performance dating back to last year, but for an Atlanta side that has struggled to get the wins it was “supposed” to, this one is critical so early in the season. Whether the team can produce these results against more quality opponents, like the surging St Louis side in the West is yet to be seen, but only time will tell. For now, Atlanta United looks to be in the drivers seat and barreling towards a season that looks much more promising than not.
