Nothing says summer and the beach quite like shark movies. They almost have to go together because otherwise sharks aren’t very dangerous. You aren’t likely to run across a great white in a coal mine or while driving across Nebraska. But sharks have been overdone since the late seventies. In no small part due to all the Jaws clones. So what if there was a really big shark? That’s the question The Meg wants to ask and answers it by making up contrived scenario where a Megalodon has survived into the modern day. This also gives it an excuse to be able to attack large ships that normally ignore ocean …
