According to Broadcast Audience Research Council data, India has a total TV viewing audience of close to 900 million and roughly 400 news channels. But why is there a discernible lack of diversity of views & themes discussed in the television news of today? What ails the unit economics of news broadcasters in India? What forms of news sources and platforms are addressing this information gap?
