Tony Alves is the Senior Vice President of Product Management at HighWire Press, Inc. With 30 years of experience in scholarly publishing, Tony has developed expertise in areas such as product development, software design, content acquisition, and international client management.

He has a deep understanding of the publishing process, especially for scientific journals, scholarly communications, professional textbooks, and educational programming. Tony is also skilled in bibliographic database design, workflow systems development, and social media.

Over his career, Tony has successfully created and launched innovative products and services, built strong client relationships, and led high-performing teams. He is recognized as a leader in the scholarly publishing industry, known for fostering collaborations between publishers, professional societies, and universities, and for promoting standards that benefit scholarly communication globally.

Tony is passionate about editorial and production workflows, software design, multimedia development, medical and science publishing, and continuing medical education. He also has a keen interest in marketing and sales strategies that drive product success.
