This episode is brought to you by Dr. Sarah Ballantyne of the The Whole View podcast.
In this episode, Stacy and Dr. Sarah discuss how incredibly common nutrient deficiencies are, even if you think you’re eating a healthy diet, plus what nutrient-dense foods we can eat to restore healthy nutrient levels in the body, and what framing the whole diet as nutrivore means.
Welcome to The Whole View. We’re excited to have new listeners! So, for anyone new to the show, let’s briefly introduce ourselves.
Stacy - 20 year career in Federal regulation and law, my life changed in discovering what we put in and on our bodies affects our health. Now my own boss, leading a large team focused on getting safer non-toxic living products into the hands of everyone.
Dr. Sarah - medical research background, PhD in medical biophysics, used diet and lifestyle to regain my health, and now see myself in many ways as a science translator, a bridge between the researchers working to expand human knowledge and the people who can benefit from the actionable information
A lot of our shows lately have done some very deep dives into the science on specific foods or even specific forms of specific nutrients! So, we thought it would be a good idea to take a step back and look at the big picture, and talk about why nutrients are so important from a whole health perspective.
Basically, we’ve been throwing this word “nutrivore” around a lot lately, so we want to dedicate a whole show to talking about what it means to be a nutrivore and why it’s the most important property of a healthy diet..
We hope this show will be a good “centering” or “grounding” show for our regular listeners, but this is a fantastic episode to share with family and friends who will be or have been inundated with "diet" jargon.
We use science to guide recommended health principals, and the vast majority of scientific studies tell us that focusing on a nutrient-rich fuel source (as well as other lifestyle factors) are the things that support health.
