Damien Martinez ran for 148 yards and two touchdowns, and Mark Fletcher Jr. added 71 yards and a score, as the #6 Miami Hurricanes rushed for 230 yards in their way to an easy 36-14 win over rival Florida State.

Can Ward threw for 208 yards and caught a touchdown pass, but the Heisman hopeful did not throw a TD pass for the 1st time this season.

No. 6 Miami remained unbeaten, going to 8-0 in front of a sold-out home crowd at Hard Rock Stadium.

Andres Borregakes kicked three field goals to help Miami (4-0 ACC) snap a three-game losing streak against the Seminoles (1-7, 1-6).

FSU won the ACC last year, but this year they are guaranteed to have their fifth losing season in the last seven years, and the third in five seasons under coach Mike Norvell.

Fletcher, whose father died this week, opened the scoring for Miami on a 1-yard run to cap a 67-yard drive.

Martinez made it 14-0 with an 18-yard run early in the second.

Elijah Arroyo hit Ward on an 8-yard touchdown pass with 4:32 left in the game.

Martinez scored again with 1:51 left, running it in from 12 yards out. His 148 yards was the second-most by any Miami rusher in the rivalry series. (Stephen McGuire, 176, 1990)

The Seminoles haven’t scored more than 21 points in a game this season. The Hurricanes held them under 20 points for the seventh time in their eight games this season.

Miami WR Xavier Restrepo Xavier Restrepo passed Michael Irvin and Reggie Wayne in Miami’s record book same play, a 13-yard catch in the third quarter. Restrepo’s 174 catches (passing Wayne for No. 2 on Miami's career list) and 2,427 yards (passing Irvin for No. 3 on Miami's career list) have him in position to be the school’s all-time leader in both by the time he’s done here at the end of this season.

The Hurricanes should stay around No. 6 in the polls.
