Weeks after sparking debate for kicking someone out of her show in Minnesota, Carly Pearce says she has no regrets standing up for herself.

Pearce could be seen sternly calling out someone from stage in a video that quickly went viral last month after he allegedly blurted out a rude remark between songs. “Somebody get him out of here, I do not want him at my show,” Pearce called out from stage. “Get out of my show. If you’re gonna be an a**hole, you’re gonna have to say it to me and then get the f*** out of my show. I do not have time for d***s. See you later!”

Pearce recently reflected on the incident during an interview with KSON’s John & Tammy sharing she has had no second thoughts following the incident. “The boys do it all the time and it’s cool if they do it,” she shared of standing up to the fan. “For me, I wanted to stand up for myself. I think that a lot of people get away with bullying, whether it’s on the internet or in schools for children or coming to a show and not thinking there’s going to be ramifications for being mean.”

While she has zero regrets about standing up to the bully, she did acknowledge she could have used different language. ”I will say, my mom was like, ‘I’m proud of you for standing up for yourself, but maybe use a different four-letter word,’” Carly laughed. “I am from Kentucky, I have a lot of redneck in me and it came out.”

Her mom may not be a fan of her word choice, but Pearce shared many people have expressed support of her vocabulary, including the old ladies she sees regularly at the grocery store. “I have to tell you — I go to the grocery store and I have older ladies come up to me and whisper in my ear, ‘I really like what you said to that guy at your show.’ I mean, it’s really funny.”

It’s onward and upward for Pearce following the concert call out in Minnesota, and while she has plenty to look forward to in the coming months, she’s also already looking to 2025 and securing a performance slot at Stagecoach Country music festival in April.

“I think it’s always been one of those really special festivals that everybody wants to play,” she shared. “You have a true group of Country music fans to where it’s all about the clothing and it’s all about the experience and the atmosphere and all the artists and I’m just really excited to come back.”

She playfully concluded, “I’ll try not to kick somebody out of Stagecoach.”
