In Episode 4 of Season 10, Craig sat down with Ilana Milkes Espinosa, serial entrepreneur, who is working at the forefront innovative startups at the cutting edge of the future of work, technology and sustainability.

Ilana talked about how she founded two startups, including World Tech Makers which conducts pioneering work in Colombia to democratize access to education and more recently ePioneers which is using cutting edge technology to democratize investing in sustainability and is key org that is behind the launch of Colombia's new digital nomad visa.

She discussed the skills needed to build world-changing startups that are based in the global south, the pathways available to founders, how to balance purpose and profit and her recommendations for anyone exploring working at the intersection of tech, sustainability and purpose as a founder or employee.

Lastly, Ilana narrated how she career pivoted from a member of the the Colombian women’s football team to working in coding, finance and tech and eventually building out ecosystems to help support Latin American Youth to upskill for the new economy.

Ilana Milkes Espinosa is a serial innovator and impact maker. She has founded two startups based that focus on supporting innovations at the center of the fourth industrial revolution, economic opportunity and sustainability.

She has been working in the social impact sector for over 8 years and also was a member of the Colombian Women’s National Football Team.

She is a Global Shaper for the World Economic Forum, a One Young World Ambassador, A Latitud Fellow, an Ambassador for Marca Pais Colombia & for Hundred.org, an MIT Innovator under 35 and was a student Entrepreneur in Residence at Draper University.

She holds an MBA from Roosevelt University and speaks several languages including Spanish, English, Portuguese and French.
