Last week in PART ONE we learned about the 2012 Masterpiece Cake Shop case out of Colorado. Colorado has an anti-discrimination statute and this cake shop was accused of violating this statute by refusing to bake a cake for a same-sex couple. What does this mean for this and similar cases?
Then on December 5th, 2022, the Supreme Court heard arguments with regard to the "303 Creative" case from Littleton, CO where the woman refuses to make a website for the LGBTQ community. HOWEVER; there are NO real parties involved, or no real justiciable issue- this is basically a hypothetical. Why would the Supreme Court take this case? What are your rights to free speech? What are the case requirements to free speech?
