In this special episode, we ask the question on the mind of all Lore Olympus readers: why is Hades so hot? This episode was originally recorded in 2020 for the the inaugural Young Adult Studies Association Conference, so it leans a little more academic than our usual episodes. We get into how how cartoonist Rachel Smythe’s adaptation of Hades and Persephone myth plays with dark prince tropes, retools familiar characters, and grapples with difficult concepts.
And make sure to check out our next Love Olympus episode, coming out on Monday, Oct 24th!
