Mrs Sheila Morrison is in desperate trouble and goes to see a lawyer named Mr Baloo. Her husband is the prominent surgeon Paul Morrison from Boston. Mrs Morrison is English and met he husband in London in 1939. He was different then deeply concerned and caring but the war changed him. They were happy for the first years of their marriage then Mrs Morrison wanted to adopt a child but Paul was against it. When Paul went back to America to join the corps service Sheila went to stay with her mother in the country. While on the train she met a woman with a newborn baby whose husband had been killed the previous week. Sheila knew it was wrong but when the opportunity presented itself she stole the baby and tried to pass him off as hers and Paul’s.
