This is episode 4 in the “All Psyched Up About” series dedicated to the work of clinical psychologist, Dan McMillan, whereby he highlights a variety of issues and topics around mental health.

In this episode, Daniel provided an introduction to the Assured Psychology work with employees from a large oil and gas “Fly-in / Fly-out” camp in Northern Alberta. Rather than simply providing “Check the box” health benefits, this oil and gas major provides employees and contractors with on site access to the clinical psychologists from Assured Psychology for a 4-day period twice per month. This provides coverage for both of the bi-weekly shifts that rotate into the camp.
Although the program is in only its first 6 months and still early to draw conclusions, Daniel explained “...we are reducing barriers to normally hard to access employees…”
