William “Doc” Black (Fayetteville, Tennessee) is a U.S. Navy Combat Veteran, Warriors Heart Alumni and Warriors Heart Foundation Board Member, who deployed as a Line Corpsman in Iraq 2004-2006. He served with 2nd Marine Division, and most notably served as a combat replacement for 3rd Battalion, 25th Marines. As a survivor of these deployments, he became intimate with death and trauma and has dedicated his life to helping others that struggle with grief, trauma, and addiction. Will graduated from the Warriors Heart program in 2016 and since that time he has run their service dog program, volunteered with Sartech (search and rescue), volunteered with animals and Veterans in many forms. In September 2020, Will joined the Governing Board of the Warriors Heart Foundation. Will loves to be outdoors, volunteering in the community, and the gym. On one hiking endeavor, Will met his soul mate Stephanie and married her in 2021. Will and Stephanie have 6 children together and his service dog Dozer who has been with him 10 years now.
