On 1 July 2020, the state security law was implemented in Hong Kong, making it illegal for citizens "engaging in activities that endanger national security". Critics say this is the end of the specific "two systems" in the People's Republic of China.

Professor Steve Tsang, Director of the SOAS China Institute in London, joined us for a webinar on 4 June, to give us an insight in the situation in China and what to expect from Xi Jinping's leadership.
