Cyla Maguire is who you would call an inspiring human being. Her childhood could be lifted straight out of a documentary, where the main character ends up in a life of crime or worse, dead. Cyla was shifted from house to house, finally being fostered by an Indigenous Elder who became the mother figure she needed. In her teenage years, Cyla finally found a place she would call home and people she would call family - a boxing gym. Boxing saved her life in many ways, and after turning Pro, Cyla was involved in a near-fatal car accident. This was a defining moment in her life. Cyla has become a role model to many, including myself. Now she shares her story for the first time in this podcast.
