In todays episode I talk with drummer/songwriter and founding member of the Meat Puppets, Derrick Bostrom.
Derek and the Meat Puppets are cited as a hugely influential band by artists such as Dinosaur Jr, Nirvana and Soundgarden (among others) and even appeared as guests on Nirvana's MTV unplugged record back in 1993.
Real innovators of the DIY approach to bands, the Meat Puppets eventually went from infamous labels like SST to majors like Atlantic and Mega Force.
