Dr. Avanti Kumar-Singh was well into her twenties before she became aware that her parents had raised her in an Ayurvedic lifestyle. Her parents had immigrated from India to Chicago, and to Avanti, this lifestyle was just a normal daily routine and perspective on life that became culturally ingrained in her as she grew.
It was only when she went from being extremely healthy to having all sorts of strange health issues that couldn’t be explained by Western medicine that she went on a journey of self-discovery, healing, and coming back to her heritage.
In this episode of “Authors Who Lead,” I talk with Dr. Avanti Kumar-Singh about Ayurvedic healing and the health crisis that led to writing her book, The Health Catalyst: How To Harness the Power of Ayurveda to Self-Heal and Achieve Optimal Wellness.
