When life hits you hard, it's not about avoiding the fall but how you rise. In our ever-busy world, finding personal happiness and establishing boundaries can often feel like an unattainable goal—especially for women who juggle multiple roles and responsibilities.

But what if the key to unlocking this wellspring of joy was as simple as engaging in a sport? As unlikely as it sounds, for Dr Jen Welter—the first female coach in the NFL—this rediscovery of self came through the game of pickleball.

It was during a soul-searching conversation with a friend that Jen revealed her newfound vitality. Her radiant glow was the result of a life reinvigorated by prioritizing herself in her own life equation. In this episode she candidly shares how the demands of constantly being there for everyone else led her to a point of burnout, a feeling many women can relate to.

Give yourself permission to be selfish-ish. Do some ish for YOU so you can be your best for others~Dr. Jen Welter

“Pickleball taught me the importance of creating healthy boundaries, such as carving out dedicated times for play, which in turn made me more present, focused, and happier in all aspects of life,” states Jen. These principles are not exclusive to sports; they extend to our daily professional and personal routines. Learning to say 'no' and to schedule time for oneself can lead to an overall increase in effectiveness, fulfillment, and well-being.

Women often unconsciously set themselves up for exhaustion by being perpetually available—both in a physical and digital sense. I love the fact that Jen's #pickleball experience highlights a critical point: By scattering our availability, we may inadvertently dull our shine. Jen flips the script by proposing a refreshingly direct approach to life and relationships—being fully present for the task or person at hand, knowing that some things can—and should—wait.

The struggle is part of the story. These are the journeys that #rockstar #legends are made of!
