Matthew 6:24 (KJV) says: "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon." While this particular scripture is mainly referring to money (mammon), serving two masters can also apply to other aspects of our lives. The bible tells us of the dangers of having other things (or people) in our lives that occupy our lives more than God. This can be dangerous.
