Francisco Tario, seudónimo utilizado por Francisco Peláez (1911-1977). Escritor fantástico y marginal por la originalidad alcanzada en la edificación de sus universos, es literariamente próximo a figuras como Juan José Arreola y Juan Rulfo. Pese a que permaneció en la sombra durante varias décadas debido al carácter excéntrico de su vida y obra, actualmente está considerado como uno de los grandes escritores mexicanos del siglo XX. Algunos títulos de su autoría son: La noche, Tapioca Inn: mansión para fantasmas y Una violeta de más (cuento); Aquí abajo y Jardín secreto (novela); El caballo asesinado (teatro) y Equinoccio (aforismos). “La noche del féretro” y “La noche del traje gris”, textos que a continuación reproducimos, pertenecen al libro Entre tus dedos helados (INBA/UNAM).
