Hilde Mosse comes from one of the wealthiest families in Berlin and stands to inherit an enormous fortune. But she longs for something more meaningful than the luxurious lifestyle her family provides. So Hilde decides to pursue her dream of becoming a doctor. As the Nazis take power in Germany and the Mosse family is forced to flee, Dr. Hilde Mosse lands in New York having nearly lost everything.. She finds her calling treating the mental health of Black youth – and the symptoms of a racist system. In addition to photographs, school records, and correspondence spanning Hilde Mosse’s entire lifetime, the Mosse Family Collection in the LBI Archives includes the diaries she kept between 1928 and 1934, from the ages of 16-22. Hilde’s papers are just part of the extensive holdings related to the Mosse Family at LBI. Learn more at lbi.org/hilde . The entire team at Antica Productions and Leo Baeck Institute is deeply saddened by the passing of our Executive Producer, Bernie Blum. We would not have been able to tell these stories without Bernie's generous support. Bernie was also President Emeritus of LBI and Exile would not exist without his energetic and visionary leadership. We extend our condolences to his entire family. May his memory be a blessing. This episode of Exile is made possible in part by a grant from the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany, which is supported by the German Federal Ministry of Finance and the Foundation Remembrance, Responsibility and Future.…

Aaron Lee | Undivided Conference 2025 Breakout Session | February 1, 2025 What is it that makes serving together with men and women in the church different than working with men and women in the workplace or in the world? Romans 16:1-2 Luke 8:1-3 Acts 18:24-28 Point 1: As family (brothers and sisters, mothers and sons) Practical consideration: Boundaries Point 2: As fellow workers (to share the same in position or activity, a team) Practical consideration: Giftings Point 3: With physical means (money, hospitality) Practical consideration: Presence and practicality, not just support from afar or in spirit Point 4: With affection (holy kiss) Practical consideration: Care as friends, not just using each other as a means to an end Siblings and Servants: Brothers and Sisters Working Together Before we serve, we are brothers and sisters The church is a place where we get to serve God together Related: https://youtu.be/mG3MJ6wSae8…

“Christians have no right to force their religion on other people. People have the right to believe what they believe. Aren’t all religions the same anyways?” After our final group activity on the motivations for missions, Aaron concludes with the goals of giving answers: 1. To be faithful to God and Scripture 2. To open further conversation 3. To remain a good friend who cares Related sermon: https://youtu.be/34kQDYL5FJk Listen on YouTube: https://youtu.be/K4YiiptT47M…

Aaron walks the class through a friendly practice question: “I know I still sin, but it’s not that bad. It’s not a big deal. When I die, I’ll say sorry to God and he’ll still let me go to Heaven. Why should I work so hard to fight my sin when I have other things to worry about?” Related sermon: https://youtu.be/pr1ODbopuAw Listen on YouTube: https://youtu.be/RB6u09BAEL4…
