When a young Eva Kollisch arrives as a refugee in New York in 1940, she finds a community among socialists who share her values and idealism. She soon discovers ‘the cause’ isn’t as idyllic as it seems. Little does she know this is the beginning of a lifelong commitment to activism and her determination to create radical change in ways that include belonging, love and one's full self. In addition to Eva Kollisch’s memoirs Girl in Movement (2000) and The Ground Under My Feet (2014), LBI’s collections include an oral history interview with Eva conducted in 2014 and the papers of Eva’s mother, poet Margarete Kolllisch, which document Eva’s childhood experience on the Kindertransport. Learn more at www.lbi.org/kollisch . Exile is a production of the Leo Baeck Institute , New York | Berlin and Antica Productions . It’s narrated by Mandy Patinkin. Executive Producers include Katrina Onstad, Stuart Coxe, and Bernie Blum. Senior Producer is Debbie Pacheco. Associate Producers are Hailey Choi and Emily Morantz. Research and translation by Isabella Kempf. Sound design and audio mix by Philip Wilson, with help from Cameron McIver. Theme music by Oliver Wickham. Voice acting by Natalia Bushnik. The sports media industry landscape is constantly changing, and FanRag sports is changing with it. After 132 episodes, Jared Mintz and Joseph Nardone (that's right, he's back) wrap up their podcast by reflecting on the last couple of years, their careers to this point as writers, where the industry's been and where it's going. The duo, who also host the Off The Wall Podcast for The Knicks Wall, fondly reminisce on some of their previous stops as writers, the running gag that the podcast would be cancelled shortly after it kicked off, and some of their favorite episodes and conversations with their esteemed guests. They also make fun of Kevin Durant, because they're blogger boys and he's not. For amateur basketball coverage and takes on Marty Jannetty, you can follow Joseph on Twitter at @JosephNardone. With almost a week in between meaningful NBA games, myself and millions of others are going crazy just waiting for the second half of the season to pick back up. Returning to the show for his third appearance, and helping Jared discuss the most important and interesting storylines for the last leg of the season is Josh Eberly. Josh is a member of the Professional Basketball Writers Association, and is a contributor for Hoop Mag, as well as the host of the Hot Takes and Shot Fakes Podcast. The two talk about Cleveland being the team to beat in the East, the Rockets being incredible close to the Warriors, Kawhi Leonard's strange situation in San Antonio, and LeBron's future. To stay in the loop of what's important on NBA Twitter, make sure you follow Josh at @JoshEberley. The NBA had a wild trade deadline last week, and with All-Star weekend literally hours away from tipping off, there's only one team that we should all be talking about. No, the Relatively Speaking Podcast is not going to discuss the Cleveland Cavaliers, rather the team that worked with them to fix their problems and potentially steal their franchise's greatest player in free agency this upcoming summer...the Los Angeles Lakers! Joining Jared to discuss one of the NBA's most prominent franchises is Jacob Rude, who is a contributor for Lakers Outsiders, and the host of the Coast 2 Coast Podcast. Jared and Jacob talk about the Lakers' youth movement, long term plans for Isaiah Thomas and Julius Randle, and whether or not they have a shot at LeBron. For great Lakers and NBA thoughts you can follow Jacob on Twitter at @JacobRude. The NBA is the greatest league in professional sports. Even with Super Bowl LII on deck, all we can talk about is NBA All-Star weekend, LeBron's drama in Cleveland, DeMarcus Cousins season ending injury, and James Harden's ridiculousness. And then, unexpectedly, five-time All-Star Blake Griffin gets traded in the prime of his career! The Clippers moving Griffin to Detroit represents the death of Lob City, which was more than likely the franchise's most glorious run. Joining Jared to discuss the end of an era, Blake's legacy, the future for Los Angeles's other team, and the potential of landing LeBron is Rob Flom, column editor for SB Nation's Clippers blog Clips Nation. Between Chris Paul's controversial return to the Staples Center, Arron Afflalo literally trying to take Nemanja Bjelica head off, and the Cavs dropping five of their last six games and looking like the worst defense the NBA has seen in years, things are heating up around the NBA. Somewhere in the background of the madness has been the Chicago Bulls, who are 15-8 since Nikola Mirotic returned to the team in early December, and have won 4 of their last 5 games. After trading Jimmy Butler during the offseason, the Bulls are in full rebuilding mode, and things are seemingly further along than expected. Joining Jared to make sense of the Bulls hot stretch and talk about their young core is Vijay Vemu, who covers the team for SB Nation's BlogABull.com. You can follow Vijay on Twitter at @VJVemu. Considering we haven't talked about the New York Knicks since the Carmelo trade, Jared had a special guest on the podcast to discuss his hometown team. Joining the show this week is Bryan Gibberman, who used to host the Podium Game Podcast, and has made several appearances on the LockedOn Knicks podcast. Bryan doesn't hold any punches when it comes to discussing the Knicerbockers, and with strong ties to the Michigan basketball program, he was the perfect person to talk to about a potential Tim Hardaway Jr./Trey Burke reunion. Bryan also had a special guest column for The Knicks Wall this week, where he discussed the below average job that Knicks' coach Jeff Hornacek has done this season. For mostly rational Knicks, Phoenix Suns and other NBA takes, and the occasional New York Jets bashing, make sure you follow Bryan on Twitter at @Gibberman10. The Toronto Raptors have the second best record in the East, but lead the conference in ret rating, and have been one of the most exciting teams to watch in all of the NBA over the last couple of months. Joining Jared to discuss their hot start, and whether it's sustainable, is Sean Woodley, who writes and hosts a podcast for LockedOn Raptors, and contributes to SB Nation's Raptors HQ. Sean opens the show explaining how Masai Ujiri and Dwane Casey have implemented a culture change, before getting into what makes DeMar DeRozan so good. The two also discuss preserving Kyle Lowry, the team's depth being driven by a youth movement and more. As we prepare our good-byes for 2017, Jared dedicates this episode of the Relatively Speaking Podcast to his five most important NBA storylines from the past year, as well as the five things he's most excited for in 2018. The Golden State Warriors won their second championship in three seasons, but was it a big deal? Why don't people like Kevin Durant anymore? Who are the league's new must-watch stars? Jared covers these topics, heart-wrenching break-ups, and also, happily, leaves the Phil Jackson/Carmelo Anthony Knicks in 2017. For the future, we look at reasons we won't see the Cavs and Warriors meet up again in the NBA Finals, both in 2018 and beyond. Will there by a blockbuster trade? If so, this episode looks at the candidates for relocation. And don't worry, Lavar Ball gets a shout-out as well. After talking about the Cleveland Cavaliers surprisingly yet unsurprisingly taking over the Eastern Conference last week, the Relatively Speaking Podcast went back to the top of the West this week, to discuss a couple of teams in Texas who are giving the Golden State Warriors a run for their money. Helping Jared make sense out of the surging Houston Rockets, and the early success of a Kawhi-less San Antonio Spurs team is Kelly Scaletta, whose writing can be found at Fanrag Sports, Bleacher Report, Dime Uproxx and BBall Breakdown…

If you've been keeping up with the NBA, and the Relatively Speaking Podcast for that matter, you know there are few topics, teams and players more worthy of discussion at the moment than the Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron James. After a 5-7 start, the Cavs have reeled off 13 wins in their last 14 games, and are back near the top of the Eastern Conference. Joining Jared to discuss the Cavs righting the ship, LeBron having a career-year in his 15th season in the league, unsung heroes, and more is Carter Rodriguez. Carter writes for SB Nation Cav's blog Fear the Sword, and he's the co-host of The Chase Down podcast with Justin Rowan For Jeff Green stanning, great Cavs/NBA takes and the occasional Twitter beef with less than favorable former sports reporters turned political voices, make sure you're following Carter at @Carter_Shade. After taking a Thanksgiving week break, the Relatively Speaking Podcast has returned, with a very special guest. Joining Jared this week is the first person he ever recorded a podcast with, Varoon Bose, who's a social media specialist with a focus on the NBA for Bleacher Report. Jared and Varoon go back several years, having written and podcasted at the now defunct Bro Jackson together, and they reunited to discuss Varoon's hometown team the Portland Trail Blazers and other general NBA current events. It feels like the NFL season literally just kicked off yesterday, yet we're a quarter of the way through the campaign. Without any teams prevailing as dominant, we take a look around the league at some of the trends we've seen, what we think will hold up, and what we aren't quite buying yet. Jared goes out of his way to prop up fellow great-name haver Jared Goff, as well as, Blake Bortles? He quickly dials back the Bortles love, but admits that the Jacksonville Jaguars could be for real, and could have a legitimate shot at winning the AFC South. Staying in the AFC, we also look at the legitimacy of the Kansas City Chiefs hot start, MVP candidate Alex Smith, and why we shouldn't be freaking out about the New England Patriots sitting below the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets in the AFC East. We then head to the NFC, where Jared rants about hating on Odell Beckham Jr., and the uncertainty surrounding some of the conference's best teams. It wouldn't be possible to have this show and completely ignore the return of NBA preseason basketball, but Jared tries to temper his takes. Key word, tries. Check in for his Carmelo Anthony takes, Kristaps Porzingis love, and what he thinks the most under the radar move of the offseason was. We waited all summer, if not the last couple of years, for it to happen. The New York Knicks finally traded Carmelo Anthony this weekend, sending him to the Oklahoma City Thunder to be paired with fellow All-Stars Russell Westbrook and Paul George. To discuss this significant Knicks' news, Jared paired with Twitter/podcast All-Stars Kyle Maggio and Trey Teamer of The Knicks Wall! The three shared their thoughts on the trade, the end of the rumors, Melo's legacy with the Knicks, his value to the Thunder, as well as what Enes Kanter and Doug McDermott can offer to a Knicks team with low expectations. Kyle is the associate editor for The Knicks Wall, as well as a bad food opinion haver, and can be followed on Twitter at @MaggioNBA. The Relatively Speaking Podcast put the wraps on the NBA offseason this week with FiveThirtyEight and ESPN Senior NBA writer Chris Herring. Jared and Chris go back a few years to when Chris covered the New York Knicks for the Wall Street Journal, as the two discuss Carmelo Anthony's crazy offseason, his place in today's NBA, and where we can expect to see him play his games this upcoming season. Chris also discusses the impact of Chris Paul being traded to the Houston Rockets, why it might take the Boston Celtics some time to figure things out before dethroning LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, and teams he doesn't think are getting enough attention heading into the season. Of course Jared couldn't let the podcast finish without asking about the Knicks' beat, where Chris shared some of his best (and worst) experiences about one of the first jobs of his career. Chris is one of the best people to follow on Twitter when it comes to NBA news and analysis. You can follow him at @Herring_NBA, and check out his columns on ESPN/FiveThirtyEight.…

The big story in the NFL this weekend was the Dallas Cowboys suffocating the New York Giants, and Jared thinks it was in large part due to Odell Beckham Jr.'s absence. He goes on to praise the Cowboys, especially second-year quarterback Dak Prescott, but discusses how important Beckham is if the Giants want to live up to their preseason hype. Under things he didn't expect to see, Jared discusses Alex Smith's prowess, the Cleveland Browns hanging close with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and impressive showings from the Jacksonville Jaguars and Los Angeles Rams. We then move to results that were disappointing, including the Seattle Seahawks continuing their offensive woes in road games, the highly touted New England Patriots defense getting smoked, and bad Andy Dalton showing up 17 weeks too early. Among players who pleasantly surprised this weekend were Carson Wentz, Marshawn Lynch, and Matthew Stafford, all of whom play vital roles for teams with playoff aspirations. Not to be overlooked, there was also some fantasy football advice sprinkled throughout the show, as you should make sure Kenny Golloday, Tarik Cohen, and Andre Ellington are all owned in your leagues. To celebrate the return of the NFL, the Relatively Speaking Podcast invited Joe Marino onto the program to help preview the 2017 season. A member of the Football Writers Association of America, Joe writes about the NFL, College Football and the NFL Draft for FanRag Sports. He's also the co-host of the Draft Dudes podcast with Kyle Crabbs, as well as the AD of NDT Scouting To kick things off, Joe insists the Patriots are still the team to beat in the AFC (and the NFL), and that there's only one other team in the conference they should be even remotely afraid of. Joe also makes clear that the NFC seems a bit more unpredictable this season than the AFC, and that there are at least four teams he thinks have a legitimate shot at getting to the Super Bowl. If you love football, Joe is a must-follow on Twitter, where he breaks down all levels of the sport. Follow him @TheJoeMarino, check out his columns here, and listen to the Draft Dudes podcast. ??Despite NFL preseason takes, Connor McGregor looking better than anyone could have realistically expected this weekend against Floyd Mayweather, and the beginning of the home stretch of MLB madness, the Relatively Speaking Podcast had big NBA news to breakdown this week. It's crazy that in a summer that's seen All-Stars Chris Paul, Paul George, and Jimmy Butler get traded, the BIGGEST summer blockbuster trade took place just last week, with the summer winding down. The Cleveland Cavaliers granted Kyrie Irving's trade request, and sent the four time All-Star to conference rival Boston for Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, the Brooklyn Nets first round pick in 2018, and 2016 first round pick Ante Zizic. To help Jared discuss this mega deal, he enlisted the help of Justin Rowan, host of the The Chase Down podcast with Carter Rodriguez, and contributor for SB Nation Cav's blog Fear The Sword. Jared asks Justin how the Kyrie trade impacted him both as an objective NBA observer, as well as someone with vested interest in the Cavaliers. The two also discuss the bridging of the gap between Cleveland and Boston in the Eastern Conference, expectations for this year's Cavs team without Irving, and what the future has in store for LeBron James and his hometown team. If you aren't doing so already, Justin is a must follow on Twitter, where when he isn't talking Cavs/NBA, he's going viral for his hilarious tweets. Important stuff in our humble opinion. Jared and Joseph also talk Barry Bonds being the goat and how the Miami Marlins should not trade the only player worth watching in that entire state. It wouldn't be a Relatively Speaking Podcast if the guys didn't also discuss Kristaps Porzingis apparently not being on the trading block. While the New York Knicks often New York Knick the heck out of stuff, this isn't one of them. Finally, it is probably worth mentioning this is the last edition of the Relatively Speaking Podcast as you know it. In fact, there's so much tomfoolery happening in this edition of the Relatively Speaking Podcast that you can't even hit it with a stick -- not that you should be trying to physically harm your favorite podcast. Did Jared have a fun time at his friend's bachelor party this weekend? Did Joseph and his father cheat to win money at a family reunion? So many important questions with so few solid answers. The Relatively Speaking Podcast is back to air the greatest edition of any podcast in the history of live noises being recorded through third-hand applications! Jared and Joseph immediately go off the rails on an episode that was designed to go off the rails. Joseph discusses how he and his father plan to cheat in a tournament at their family reunion so they can make a few extra dollars. It isn't the most sane thing ever discussed, nor is the plan to win money actually in place, but it makes for a weird weekend preview. As for Jared, he is going to a bachelor party this weekend. He provides very little details, as he fears his wife or employer may be listening to the Relatively Speaking Podcast. The show itself is about other shows. The co-hosts actually create a show in a show. Magically, it is about the TV show Lost in an airplane or something -- more than likely something, but don't worry about the semantics. Welcome back to the Relatively Speaking Podcast. A podcast designed to insert the most insightful and entertaining sounds into your ears via the sultry noises coming out of the orifice of Jared Mintz. Some other guy co-hosts the podcast as well. It is a slow news cycle in sports. That is unless you love Major League Baseball. While Jared and Joseph love the slapstick, it isn't exactly in their wheelhouse. The show begins as all shows should, as the guys immediately go off the rails. Joseph has finally begun to watch The Leftovers. This leads the dastardly duo into a 10 minute discussion about television show spoilers, what good shows are out there, and if either of them will ever begin to consume Game of Thrones. Also, spoiler alert, Joseph tells a story about Sons of Anarchy being spoiled for him. In the process, he spoils the show for everyone else unintentionally. Then it is off to actual sports. Darren Daulton died. Joseph tells a quick story about being convinced Tom Berenger's character in Major League being based off Dutch while not caring if the movie happened before 1993 or not. The Miami Dolphins signed Jay Cutler. The guys giggle at the idea of giving an aged, coming off injury Cutler $10 million as opposed to just letting Matt Moore stink. Seriously... the Dolphins are going to stink no matter what, right? This edition of the show ends with Absurd Questions. Would you rather fight a clown or a mime with brass knuckles? There was another question, but this Internet Scribbler always forgets Jared's question. You can follow Jared on Twitter @JMintzHoops. Joseph is over yonder @JosephNardone.…

Welcome back to the Relatively Speaking Podcast. A place where noises emit from the hosts and sometimes results insightful commentary or delightfully charming jokes. Oh, who are we kidding? The Relatively Speaking Podcast is the best podcast ever and always emits the best noises possible. In fact, of the three people polled, all three would tell you how wonderful this specific podcast is. On today's episode, the guys talk about some of the latest happenings around the world of sports. How many quarterbacks need to get hurt before Colin Kaepernick gets a chance? What in the hell is wrong with the Baltimore Ravens?Do the Ravens have the worst PR team ever?New York Jets safety Jamal Adams says stuff about dying on a field and the world is confused.Way too early NFL hot-takes and predictions! The guys then discuss Michael Jordan pushing the LeBron James or Kobe Bryant debate. Joseph believes Jordan is doing this for a certain reason. In typical Relatively Speaking Podcast form, this becomes its own segment. Which one? The wildly popular and totally speculatory Conspiracy Theories segment! The show closes as do most Friday editions, with fan-favorite segment, AMA. Do you prefer your sheets tucked or untucked? This one gets heated. If you can be a juror for any trial in the history of the world, which one would it be and why? Jared and Joseph are both, apparently, cowards. The Relatively Speaking Podcast is back and better than ever. In fact, you can ask anybody about the return of the Relatively Speaking Podcast, and you know what they would tell you? “The Relatively Speaking Podcast is back and better than ever.” This is factual. Seriously ... just ask someone. On this edition of the show, the guys continue to touch on basketball-related subjects even though no games are being played. Also on this episode, Jared and Joseph do their first true segment on the UFC. To start this show, Joseph opines about better weather to cut grass with and Jared says he is a liar. Jared discusses if holding some infants over the weekend makes him want to have a baby. As always, riveting stuff. Jon Jones won over the weekend. Good or bad?Do we trust him to stay eligible? Are the guys excited for a possible Jon Jones-Brock Lesnar fight?Does Jared or Joseph know a singular MMA term? Then it is off to discuss The BIG3. Allen Iverson no-showed an event and... haha.Has this been a complete disaster? Is The BIG3 the feds? Will it even be back next year? The show ends with Absurd Questions. Joseph asks about zombies, vampires and mummies. Jared asked something as well, but people always forget what he asks because they are still recovering from him pondering if he'd rather die by drowning or fire. On this edition of the podcast, the guys have a very special guest lined up. Mirin Fader -- of the OC Register, Bleacher Report Magazine, SLAM, and others -- joins the show. Before our interview with one of the best long form writers on the planet, Jared and Joseph begin the show by discussing some of the weirder things in life. Important subjects such as: What are the two doing today? Bad jokes! What are the weekend plans! Riveting stuff as always. Per Relatively Speaking Podcast law, the interview starts with five rabid fire questions. Find out what Mirin thinks of the chances of whales and humans living side-by-side. She also discusses her love of pandas. Jared claims an athlete as a New Yorker, even though she is a native of a town a few thousand miles away. This edition of rabid fire questions was very legitimate. As for the real part of the interview: Mirin discusses her journey as a sports writer; what she did prior to writing; what inspires her; the state of the industry; breaking through glass ceilings; and so much more. Mirin was easily one of the podcast's best and most enlightening guests. One of the last things touched on was Mirin's latest feature for Bleacher Report. It was on the "The real first family of hoops." It is on the Ogwumike sisters and you should read that wonderful piece right here. The show ends as it often does, with Absurd Questions. Joseph asks: If you can reboot or take over a TV show from a creative position, which one would it be and why? Jared asks: How would you prefer to die... drowning or in a fire?…

The Relatively Speaking Podcast returns with the fury of 1,000 suns. It also returns just in time to discuss the latest happenings in the world of sports. If you want to have a good time and also gain insight, there isn't a better place to do it than by listening to the Relatively Speaking Podcast. For the first time in a long time, the podcast does not start on the morbid side. Instead, we find out that Jared is sick as a dog and that Joseph likes his new lawnmower so much that he cut his grass twice this weekend. Really riveting and important stuff, to be honest. As for actual things talked about on the Relatively Speaking Podcast: Kyrie Irving has reportedly asked for a trade.Should the Cleveland Cavaliers oblige? Is Irving a number-one type of talent? What does this mean for LeBron James? What is a reasonable offer for Kyrie Irving?Should the New York Knicks pull the trigger on this? Then it is off to fan favorite segment, Things On Our Mind, where Joseph discusses Law & Order without regard for the human spirit. Jared hates the franchise for some reason. Absurd Questions closes this edition of the podcast. Jared asks about what college alumni team would win The Basketball Tournament.Joseph wants to know what we want to hear (your) God say to us when/if we get to heaven. ?The Relatively Speaking Podcast is now officially 101 episodes deep. If you had a time machine, traveled back to the very first show, there is no doubt you saw this coming. In fact, you can ask anybody about the first edition of the Relatively Speaking Podcast, and you know what they would tell you? "This is for sure going to last at least 101 episodes." Facts only. First thing is first, we want to thank again Matt Moore for being our guest on the 100th episode of the show. He was great. However, because we had him on to talk life after death and the NBA, we were unable to do a fancy celebration episode. For regular fans, think of this edition of the Relatively Speaking Podcast as one where we look back on our best moments and workshop some ideas -- as well as ask you guys for more feedback as to what you like and hate about the show. For new listeners, consider this your soft welcome to the show. We explain some of the inside jokes, how we got here, and the general origin story of this entire debacle that is certainly the greatest (barely about) sports podcast on the planet. The show does end with its usual Friday AMA segment. No matter who you are or what you do, this is an edition of the show you can tell your grandchildren about in a decade... or something. Thanks to all for listening. Here is to 101 more episodes and 2,034,343 more bad dad jokes! You can follow Jared on Twitter @JMintzHoops. The other loser is over yonder @JosephNardone.…

This is a very special edition of the Relatively Speaking Podcast. Not only is Matt Moore, of CBS fame, a guest on this episode, but it is the 100th show. Thank you to everyone who has been around for the wild ride, bad jokes and iffy sports takes. By law of having a guest on, the Relatively Speaking Podcast begins by asking Moore five random questions. In a random question segment first, there was a followup to something asked. Things not only get interesting, but Matt drops some really incredible philosophical ideas on our craniums by way of our ear canals. After the tomfoolery is out of the way, there's even more shenanigans, but within the realm of basketball. What is happening with the Lonzo Ball hype? The rookies that are worth keeping an eye on? Did any team actually close the gap on the Golden State Warriors and/or Cleveland Cavaliers? Is the banana boat thing an actual thing or is it a figment of our creative imaginations? What's next for LeBron James if Dan Gilbert Dan Gilberts all over himself? What team in the Western Conference is going to make a huge jump next season? Of course, some Denver Nuggets conversation. Following some insightful basketball conversations, the show ends as it always does on Monday, with Absurd Questions. This is a rather violence-heavy edition of Absurd Questions. Listen at your own risk. Also, find out who Matt wants to punch... kind of. You can follow Matt on Twitter at both @HPbasketball and @MattMooreCBS. Jared can be followed over yonder @JMintzHoops. The Relatively Speaking is back to bring you wonderful entertainment by way of dropping the most wonderful sounds inside your ear holes. It is also back with enough vengeance that Bruce Willis would be upset that he wasn't walking around New York City half naked trying to solve some puzzles. In this edition of the wold's most beloved podcast: The New York Knicks hire a new general manager! What does this mean for the franchise? Joseph compares James Dolan to Radio Shaq. He then compares NYK's front-office people to those old Radio Shaq robot dogs. Jared is happy about the hire, but remains pessimistic. Will the NBA franchise be stuck on the two-yard line with the reported Carmelo Anthony deal? Then it is off to Put The Poop In The Basket: Why are NFL players so confused by the money NBA players maker? Jared and Joseph discuss simple math to help the situation. If you're nickname is "Money" and it is created by yourself, you have to live up to the moniker, right? There is a giant race war happening in a certain combat sport fight promotion at the moment. Hooray... we guess? It is all kind of gross. The show ends as it always does on a Friday, with our AMA segment. Would you where the mink coat Conor McGregor wore on Thursday? Will the Knicks fans regret not having drafted Donovan Mitchell or Dennis Smith Jr.?…

The Relatively Speaking Podcast returns from a weekend of tomfoolery to politely drop entertainment into your cranium via your ear passages. With the NBA dominating more of the sports schedule than ever before, it is no shock that this edition of the Relatively Speaking Podcast is basketball heavy. But don't worry, friends. The podcast goes off the rails just enough to keep things interesting. Things the dastardly duo discussed: The New York Knicks wouldn't give actual power to David Griffin. What in the hell, James Dolan? Is Dolan really just a misunderstood figure who is incredibly loyal to his friends? Does the fact that it is the Knicks who messed this up actually put Griffin in a better position moving forward? NBA Summer League players who have stood out. Guys from the Summer League who have been woeful and disappointing. Joseph has grown tired of LaVar Ball while Jared gives him credit for people watching Summer League. Did Joseph get fat or hit the gym? The show closes as it always does on a Monday -- with Absurd Questions. The Relatively Speaking Podcast is back to give you all the Gordon Hayward looks like he stole the real Gordon Hayward and cloned a more muscular version of him takes! Setting aside a fictitious Hayward messing with the real one's DNA, the Relatively Speaking Podcast was straight fire in this specific episode. First, and most importantly, we discuss Jared's birthday. He turned 32 on Friday. Yay! Hooray. Yippie! All the positivity. That is, uh, until we discuss the meaning of life for some reason and decide that when we die nothing at all happens. Pretty morbid start to the show to be honest. Gordon Hayward is now a member of the Boston Celtics. Does his help Boston close the gap between them and the Cleveland Cavaliers? Does this make other assets more movable? Is Danny Ainge building toward more of a youth movement? Speaking of the Cavs, Dan Gilbert has yet to hire a general manager. Joseph tends to think this is awful, as it is providing even more reason for LeBron James to get out of the directionless organization after next season. We close this episode of the podcast as we do every Friday -- by answering questions from our very loyal, good looking, and intelligent fans. Should the New York Knicks hurl the rookies to the fire from day-one? What television death altered our life the most? Twitter Mount Rushmore... You can follow Jared on Twitter @JMintzHoops. The Relatively Speaking Podcast woke up early on a Monday morning to swiftly insert entertainment into your cranium via the soft and luscious tones of Jared Mintz and Joseph Nardone. It has been a really busy week in NBA free agency. Major trades, major signings, and all the rumors to keep a basketball junkie away from the evil that is Major League Baseball. We kid. We kid. We love slapstick. After recapping some of the recent action, Jared and Joseph opine for a world where people stop counting J.J. Redick's money. Seriously, guys. It was a one-year deal. The front-end money isn't all that bad when you realize the Sixers have a billion players on rookie contracts -- AND IT IS FOR ONE YEAR! Paul George to Oklahoma City, Chris Paul to Houston, and a few other notable moves, has there been any shift of power out in the Western Conference? Did you guys hear about John Calipari to the New York Knicks? Jared did, and he is irrationally angry about the entire ordeal. As for Joseph, he discusses why he enjoys all of this nonsense and can see a day (off in the future) when Cal hits the NBA and does relatively well. The show closes as every Monday show ends -- with Absurd Questions. Jared wants to know what sport Joseph would be most afraid to play. Joseph asks Jared if he'd rather, you know, an alien or a ghost... really classy stuff. Follow Jared on Twitter @JMintzHoops. You can do the same with the other guy @JosephNardone.…

Phil Jackson's no longer the President of the New York Knicks and Jared and Joseph are back for a special Wednesday edition of the Relatively Speaking Podcast! What was originally intended to be a special Free Agency Preview episode with special guest Charley Rosen, became a Phil/Knicks extravaganza, as Rosen offered insights as to why his former coaching buddy and fellow triangle aficionado was fired just two months after having the final two years of his contract picked up. Rosen also spoke to Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis not buying into the triangle offense, the role the media played in Jackson's failure, and the deterioration of the quality of basketball being played in today's NBA. Jared and Joseph didn't let Rosen off the hook easily though, as they asked about Phil's inability to adapt to his roster, his communication shortcomings, and what would motivate Jackson to possibly re-sign Derrick Rose. It is also worth noting that Charley was a good enough sport to participate in the Relatively Speaking Podcast's famous "five rapid questions." Ever wonder why he's not on Twitter or if he thinks Bill Russell can beat up Shaq in a fistfight? Wonder no more, Earthlings! Regardless if you agree or disagree with Rosen's takes, this was an insightful interview with a man who's spent over five decades around the game of basketball, and has as good of a perspective on Jackson's thought process as anyone out there. "The Relatively Speaking Podcast is back and better than ever." On this edition of the show, the guys continue to touch on basketball related subjects even though no games are being played. But wait... we lied! There are games taking place. It just so happens to be in Ice Cube's BIG3 league. After the show begins with Joseph discussing his walloping of family members during a Frisbee game at his daughter's graduation party, the hot-takes begin. The Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers have a small Twitter beef going. The guys discuss how it is harmless, yet incredibly delightful. With the BIG3 starting, yet airing on tape delay, Jared and Joseph discuss the prospects for the league. Both admit they will tune in to give it a shot, but aren't too optimistic about the entire situation. The hosts openly ponder the current situation of D'Angelo Russell. Furthermore, are concerned that Magic Johnson gave up on the young guard far too soon (Joseph also fears Magic might be West Coast Phil Jackson). If you can rewrite any TV show or movie and save a character that was previously killed off, who would it be and why? The Relatively Speaking Podcast is back and is without a 2017 NBA Draft hangover. In fact, it is back with such great happiness that it got to consume the draft that it might name its first podcast baby "2017 NBA Draft." In what is obviously the biggest thing happening in the sports world, Jared and Joseph discuss all things draft-related. There was a lot to go through after the 2017 NBA Draft. Some picks, guys falling, and a few trades that seemed awfully one-sided. It is a lot for the casual fan to consume. Have no fear, however, because Jared and Joseph are here to ease that burden for the casual fan. Also, to make bad jokes. Did the Bulls get swindled on Thursday night? Why is Chicago rebuilding without draft picks? Phil Jackson's relationship with Kristaps Porzingis is not ideal. What are the Knicks doing? Joseph believes the much ballyhooed Sacramento draft class isn't actually good. Will Danny Ainge ever use any of his assets to do anything of worth? The Philadelphia 76ers have trusted the process. Does it have a payoff anytime soon? Player comparisons are lazy and mostly way off... and yet we still made a few. Did the Lakers get it wrong by trading away a young prospect just to dump salary? How did we consume the draft coverage? You can follow Jared on the mean streets of Twitter @JMintzHoops. If you're feeling froggy, jump! Also, follow @JosephNardone.…

Sure, both the NBA and college basketball seasons are over, but to those who have their heaven only be 10-feed off the ground, we're here to make sure you find your religion. On this special edition of the podcast, Cole Zwicker joins as a special guest to help sort through all of the 2017 NBA Draft hoopla. Among the things discussed: Cole is a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. Everyone loves Donovan Mitchell. Cole gets pretty excited about fighting ghosts. What is a Luke Kennard and how awful are player-on-player comparisons? Is Kelly Olynyk the least attractive vampire of all the times? What should Boston and Los Angeles do with its picks? Jordan Bell gets a ton of love while the center position is mostly relegated to being the running backs of the NBA. People love Josh Jackson, but there are some legitimate concerns. Joseph goes on his usual Malachi Richardson rant that results in him asking Cole if he too hates fake-draft Twitter. We would like to thank Cole for being on the Relatively Speaking Podcast. The Relatively Speaking Podcast is back with more vengeance than Bruce Willis after a hangover. Also, the original Die Hard is most certainly not a Christmas movie. There is a lot of things happening in sports even though the only games being played are in Major League Baseball. The guys attempt to jump in with the best, most scorching hot takes this side of the Milky Way galaxy. To start the show, Joseph comes at Christopher Nolan hard. He argues that the Batman trilogy director, as well as other comic movie directors, stole their "grit" approach to the main characters from Raphielle in the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Golden State Warriors are the champs and the game seems set for them to win another next season unless another super team rises from the ashes. Can that even happen? Jerry West is leaving Golden State to join the Los Angeles Clippers. What do we make of it? The NCAA "penalized" the Louisville Cardinals for the entire hooker/stripper scandal. What are Jared and Joseph's takes? The super-fight that will certainly sucker plenty of people out of their money is officially happening. The Relatively Speaking Podcast is back to air the greatest edition of any podcast in the history of live noises being recorded through third-hand applications! In fact, you can ask anybody, and you know what they would tell you? "The Relatively Speaking Podcast recorded the best third-hand application podcast in the history of podcasts." Said anybody. On this edition, the show opens with Joseph becoming Facebook Joseph. Since he doesn't have an actual Facebook account, preventing him from talking about dad things or hot-takes, he casually ponders dad stuff with his face-orifice open and noises coming out. It is riveting. After Jared gets him back on the rails: Aaron Judge is playing baseball as if he's made three shots in a row in NBA Jam. This is great for the slapstick, but the guys want the nation to cool down on the talk of him being the face of Major League Baseball. The NBA Finals is quickly coming to a close. The guys try to make a case that maybe Cleveland can come back, then decide it is probably over after Game 5. A random discussion about the television program Community breaks out. It is probably the seven greatest minutes in the greatest recorded podcast ever. Absurd Questions closes the show. The Relatively Speaking Podcast is in an Ohio State of mind. Between the Cleveland Cavaliers apparently being toast and the Ohio State Buckeyes firing Thad Matta and going through a weird coaching search, we might as well be broadcasting from Akron. To start this famed podcast, Jared and Joseph discuss the NBA Finals. LeBron James is getting too much heat for being consistently great. Weird, right? The end of Game 3 looked like a failure, but it was actually rather logical. Can Cleveland somehow add to its roster for next season to better compete? After that, the Relatively Speaking Podcast pulls a segment out of the dumpster, as Conspiracy Theories returns! Joseph has some riveting takes on the entire Ohio State situation. Not only does he understand why Gene Smith took until June to fire Matta, but he believes the hiring of Chris Holtmann was the right move. Following some college basketball hot-takes, Jared Put The Poop In The Basket by going after NFL writers for defending the league's shield. Finally, the show ends as should all properly produced podcasts -- with an AMA! Does these NBA Finals make LeBron want to leave Cleveland? Welcome back to the Relatively Speaking Podcast. Your home for sounds being made from the orifices of the hosts. You won't find another podcast in the history of podcasts with two hosts who have such wonderful oral orifices. On this edition of the Relatively Speaking Podcast, Jared and Joseph look back at the absolutely dominating performance of the Golden State Warriors through two games of the NBA Finals. Kevin Durant has been an one-of-a-kind monster. Like Shelton Benjamin, there ain't no stopping him now. Steph Curry has quietly had two huge games himself. During Game 2, he acquired his first ever playoff triple-double. Does this start to get rid of some of the iffy Curry narratives hanging around because of Game 7 last year? Joseph, very randomly, asks for Steve Kerr to play Ian Clark more. Welcome back, Kerr! In a totally not shocking development, Joseph is taking (supposedly) his two daughters to Monday Night Raw. What does he hope to see? Who are his spawns rooting for? Will Marty Jannetty make a triumphant return to the squared-circle? This episode of the podcast ends as all episodes should -- with Absurd Questions. Jared wants to know who are the best twins to have ever graced the Milky Way Galaxy. As for Joseph, he asks Jared what reality show (all-time) he would like to be a member of. It turns out both hosts are incredible cowards. You can follow Jared on Twitter @JMintzHoops. The Relatively Speaking Podcast is here to help you get ready. For what exactly? Stuff! Stuff, and the 2017 NBA Finals. As usual, the show begins with some odd banter that has no place in big time championship preview podcasts. But so is life and so is the Relatively Speaking Podcast. After Jared and Joseph do their usual morning routines, it is time to discuss everything Golden State Warriors versus Cleveland Cavaliers. By everything, we mean near everything. Who are X-factors? What is an X-factor? Why do we keep inventing ways to say "guy who isn't great, but should do well in big moments" when we already have a thing called X-factor? What is at stake for LeBron James? Does Steph Curry need to win a title to win back the public? Can Kevin Durant do anything to make people consider him anything other than a world-class front-runner? There's even more discussion related to the NBA Finals than that, but we won't spoil the entire show because Jared and Joseph know you love surprises. This episode of the podcast is incredibly off-brand. The Relatively Speaking Podcast starts with some NHL talk. Yes. That is correct. Jared and Joseph talk slapstick! Joseph watched an E-60 over the weekend on P.K. Subban and now he's in love with the Nashville star. He wants the National Hockey League to make him the face of the sport. Jared also agrees... and he can name more than three hockey players! A true win for all hockey fans, in our not so humble opinion. Subban was the show's lone sports talking point, but that is only because there was other fish to fry in this episode. Is it called a cookout or a BBQ? Welcome back to the Relatively Speaking Podcast. A place that took Twitter's NBA Draft free agency idea and turned it into an entire segment. On this edition of the podcast, the most important thing the audience will find out is that Jared Mintz is an elitist who also enjoys himself some socialism. As it is the weekly tradition, after finding out about Joseph's plans to go dumpster diving this weekend, Jared is forced to issue an apology to LeBron James. On Monday's episode, Jared was sincerely concerned for the best player in the NBA. As of this podcast, not so much. The guys then began to discuss some other NBA tomfoolery, but are holding off their NBA Finals preview show for next week. The mean streets of Twitter was abuzz the last few days over the idea of replacing the NBA Draft with a rookie free agency type of situation. Jared and Joseph discuss the pros and cons of such an idea. Is the current system ethical? What logistical issues would there be? How much money can we make off of this? And so much more. To finish the show, fan favorite segment Put The Poop In The Basket returns! This segment is dedicated to Lonzo Ball refusing to work out for the Boston Celtics. Is it bad? Is it good? Did anyone put the poop in the basket? Also, Jared yells at Joseph for calling Lonzo Magic Johnson-lite (like, VERY poor man's version). You can follow Jared over in the shadows at @JMintzHoops. Looming in the dark recesses of Twitter is the other guy @JosephNardone.…
The Relatively Speaking Podcast is here to help you sort out the entire LeBron James debacle as well as the entire NBA Playoffs being less than awesome. In typical fashion, the show begins with Jared putting Joseph in a horrible position. After the latter of the two dances around his reasons for running away from a neighbor's house over the weekend, the real fun begins. The Boston Celtics stunned the world on Sunday after upsetting the Cleveland Cavaliers. LeBron was pretty awful in that game. Jared points out the level if indifference James appeared to show on Sunday while Joseph yells at his co-host for not having strong opinions. Is it a big deal? Does this have any larger meaning to it? Can this now result in a tremendous Eastern Conference Finals? All those questions, plus many more, are answered in this here podcast. Kevin Durant spoke to the quality of the NBA Playoffs recently. In a nutshell, the Golden State Warriors bucket-maker said if you don't like the competition level of the games, don't bother watching. Jared has some relatively small issues with those comments. Joseph, of course, agrees with the Slim Reaper. Absurd Questions closes out the show. If you ever wanted to hear the guys wax poetic about late 1990s St. John's basketball, here is your chance. Also, hot-takes involving what is the best food to tip in sauce. You can follow Jared on the mean streets of Twitter @JMintzHoops. The same with Joseph over at @JosephNardone. For More Of Jared And Joseph Jared's Author Page Joseph's Author Page…

The Relatively Speaking Podcast is here to haunt your dreams like a bad horror movie from the 1980s. This edition of the podcast is a bit heavy with NBA, but there's plenty of other random stuff to go around. Ping pong balls fell in a certain way this week to make the upcoming 2017 NBA Draft as interesting as it has ever been. Couple that with one of the (projected) best classes in roughly a decade, and we have ourselves a ton of fun just ready to go. What should the Boston Celtics do with the No. 1 overall pick? Is it better to see if the franchise can land a known superstar like a Jimmy Butler or a Paul George, or should the franchise punt for down the line by drafting in the position currently slotted? Jared and Joseph both think the world of this draft class. With that being the case, and with the combine behind us, the dastardly duo attempt to mock draft the lottery selection portion of it. It is in a segment we call -- the NBA lottery mock! Very original, we know. After all the serious conversations are out of the way, it is off to the land of crowd-sourced content! Hip, hip hooray. Questions were good this week. How long is a second (really)? If you feeling like a green animal that sometimes drinks tea and looks indifferent, jump to follow the guys on the mean streets of Twitter. Jared can be found over yonder @JMintzHoops. The other spawn of evil can be found @JosephNardone.…
The Relatively Speaking Podcast is better than your favorite podcaster's favorite podcast. Also, we have Jameel Warney as a special guest and they do not. This edition of the Relatively Speaking Podcast is so good that you can ask anyone about how good it is... and you know what they would say? "That this specific edition of the podcast is very, very good." As mentioned, former Stony Brook legend and current D-League talent, Jameel Warney, joins the podcast. We discuss many basketball things with the Texas Legends big man. What was it like going through the NBA Draft process coming out of high school? Who is his favorite Twitter follower (other than Joseph)? Any advice to people who like sliding in the DMs? What was the Summer League experience like? Who is his favorite musician (this is a stunning answer)? What did he learn from playing in the D-League? Draymond Green is one of his biggest inspirations... and how he'd make popcorn to make the NBA if need be. That is only a small fraction of what the guys talk about on this episode of the Relatively Speaking Podcast. It is literally a very insightful, enlightening and fun edition of the show. You can follow all three of the guys on the mean streets of Twitter, if you so dare. Jameel can be found @Fullcoursemeelz. Jared is over yonder @JMintzHoops. Joseph is wandering aimlessly over @JosephNardone. PSA: Jameel very much understood the Relatively Speaking Podcast brand. This is your must-listen episode of the podcast.…
What has zero thumbs, is an inanimate object, and will leave you all warm and tingly on the insides? If you guessed the Relatively Speaking Podcast, then you very much understand how each of these openers in the podcast work. With the San Antonio Spurs sitting the team's star, but with the Houston Rockets playing with the skill of a group of humans minus their thumbs, the fallout from Game 6 on Thursday night is going to be other-worldly. After Jared and Joseph give the Spurs their due credit, the hosts' eyes wander to the end of the Houston season. What had happened was? Well, it isn't nearly as bad of a loss as some will think. Furthermore, both Jared and Joseph agree that Houston's season was 99 percent a success and that the offseason is more about adding some depth than it is any sort of wild overhaul. Draymond Green calls someone else a dirty player and also said the media treats him unfair. What does that mean? That he's our Poop In The Basket segment award winner! Listen to get our wonderful hosts' opinions on the matter. Thanks to Green, and through magic we suppose, the guys then begin to discuss the Big 3 (Ice Cube's league). In what is probably the most comical section of the podcast, come for the breakdown of Brian Cook and stay for the shock and awe of the guys finding out some of their favorite players from yesteryear are in this thing. PSA: Magic is not real.…

The Relatively Speaking Podcast is here to bring the noise. What kind of noise you ask? The sort that will see your frown, slap it silly, and turn it into a smiley face. Yup... the Relatively Speaking Podcast is that good. This episode of the podcast -- per the usual -- is fire. The show begins with Joseph discussing his daughter consuming a holy figure in wafer form, but how he avoids drinking that holy figure's blood just in case it is bitter. You know, normal and sane stuff. After that, it is an acknowledgement of the greatness that is both LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Did you know Bron Bron scored at least 35 points in each of the games against Toronto? Speaking of the Raptors, Jared and Joseph discuss what the franchise do with the roster this offseason. With a few key players having their contracts run up, and with the idea of Toronto's ceiling having already been hit, it will be an interesting few months for the folk up North. Kristaps Porzingis sent a tweet, claimed he was hacked, and handled it all in a way that is very Porzing-y of him. Jared and Joseph have ideas of what really transpired over the weekend. The show ends with Absurd Questions. Jared wants to know about meeting famous people (yes, Joseph brings up Marty Jannetty), while Joseph gives Jared a question in which he somehow wins the segment. Yes... Jared won a segment that is not designed to be played as a game. It was, honestly, amazing.…

The Relatively Speaking Podcast is back with the fury of 1,000 suns and with more vengeance than Bruce Willis after getting divorced a few times over (and having killed hundreds of evil-doers). Today's episode of the podcast is a straight flame emoji to the cranium, as Jared and Joseph have plenty to talk about. On Friday, it starts with the entire Boston Red Sox-Baltimore Orioles and unwritten rules of baseball debacle. Manny Machado took (AUDIBLE GASP) 30 seconds to job around the bases after hitting a homer on Thursday evening. People are #madonline over this, as this apparently shows up an entire team -- which, uh, tried to hit him in the head with a baseball five times. Anyway, this sparks a much larger conversation about baseball's unwritten rules not only being more outdated than wearing clothes from The Gap, but how MLB is the only sport that allows its players to govern themselves. Also, you know, how a baseball is considered an "okay enough" weapon when throwing at a person's head, but heaven forbid you take a slow jog! Speaking of fun optics, the NBA had a near donnybrook on Thursday evening after a big guy from Boston screened a slightly less big guy from Washington. Aftermath hot-takes inside this here podcast! Woj to ESPN. AMA's as so random this week that our editing team had to delete roughly eight minutes of hot-takes from the episode due to poor taste. However, after the bad look was over, Jared and Joseph discuss the heartwarming story of a family releasing its mom and pop startup on Thursday called Big Baller Brand.…

The Relatively Speaking Podcast is here to help you overcome the Monday blues. Something like that, but it is worth noting that if you are sad and the podcast does not help in making you happy, you should consult the finest episode of Teddy Ruxpin. Monday's edition of the Relatively Speaking Podcast is legitimately lit. After Jared asks if he should stop setting up Joseph to nail down the same topical joke each week, it is reactions to the NBA Playoffs! The most notable discussion had on the podcast was about the Los Angeles Clippers. Both hosts are against blowing up the team, and Joseph makes a case that Chris Paul need not chase the rings because what he has done for the franchise is more impressive. Rarely used segment Things On Our Mind also returned during this edition of the podcast. Jared waxes poetic about the New York Yankees, while Joseph tells mankind how Randy Orton can somehow overcome a refrigerator being dropped on him and (we think?) job to an arena after. Another interesting NBA discussion had: Gordon Hayward's shift from wiry college basketball superstar to that of a legit NBA talent who has a nice haircut. This episode closes as have all great podcast episodes before it -- with Absurd Questions! Joseph makes a case that if you followed Ja Rule anywhere, you likely got what you deserved. Inspired by this, Jared would like to know what rappers people think they can beat up. After much mulling it over, the co-hosts agree that nearly every rapper in the history of the art would destroy both of them.…

The Relatively Speaking Podcast comes to you with a heavy heart, a mental state filled with burdens, and less joy than it usually brings to the table. There is some -- cough -- relatively good news. This episode of the podcast immediately starts off the rails. Joseph discusses how he is currently using steroids, Jared mentions how bad he was at baseball (he never had a hit!) and the two agree that there's a difference between organized basketball and pickup hoop. The joy, mostly, ends there. It is then off to discuss the biggest news of the week, and it isn't the NFL Draft. ESPN released 100 people from its company on Wednesday. This wasn't the people working behind the scenes, either. It was the talent who brought a varying types of experience, styles and perspective to the table. It is, sincerely, a horrible thing for the industry. Jared and Joseph attempt to discuss the entire ordeal. It is a far more complex than currently portrayed, so the duo attempt to do a better job explaining and expressing it. Some of the biggest, and possibly strangest, things that were noted: Joseph sticks up for Stephen A. Smith and slams someone who only goes after the lowest hanging fruit. Jared brings up some writers who attempted to have everyone rally around the industry on Thursday. Both discuss what is next. There is so much more than just that, but it is hard to put in words. Just give it a listen. You can follow Jared on Twitter @JMintzHoops. As for Joseph, he's at @JosephNardone.…

The Relatively Speaking Podcast is here to help you overcome a weekend of quality NBA basketball. If the podcast were a shrink, it would talk you down from Monday morning NBA Playoffs sadness. After finding out that Joseph and Jared open the show oddly, it is time to discuss the biggest and best happenings over a tremendous April weekend. The Memphis-San Antonio game was crazy on Sunday. Marc Gasol has truly become a hero to all the people. Do the guys think there is now a chance the Spurs get upset? Also, find out why Joseph wants to place blame on a certain person who forever gets a free pass. Bulls-Celtics is a bit different now, right? Jared believes that this is just the law of averages playing out, while Joseph is determined to stick with his "Chicago has the best player on the court, so I am going with the Bulls" routine. It is a truly wonderful routine. The Pacers are gone the way of the dinosaurs. What does that mean for Paul George? You can listen to find out! It is also worth noting that, despite sweeping Indiana, Jared and Joseph still have major questions for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Blake Griffin hurt his toe, Steve Kerr has major back issues, and everyone should be sad about this. Probably -- heaven forbid -- feel a level of empathy for the guys out with the issues. Two fan favorite segments return this week. Both Poop in the Basket and Absurd Questions end the show on an incredibly high note. You're welcome, humans.…

Welcome back to the Relatively Speaking Podcast. A place in the sports world where LeBron James is discussed as being somehow underrated. In all realms of sports, and you can ask anyone about this, the Relatively Speaking Podcast is the best thing since the slicing of bread for consumption. Friday's episode begins as should all podcast episodes, as Jared and Joseph discuss the awesomeness that is LeBron James. On Thursday evening, the NBA superstar had one of the most impressive triple-doubles a member of the human species will ever see. Due to that, the hosts discuss LeBron from a historical standpoint. Both tend to believe that he is going to go down as one of the best ever, and Jared and Joseph also believe there is a chance he is inching toward Michael Jordan. Unfortunately for fans of fun, the show becomes a bit more morbid after the LeBron talk. First up is the entire Carmelo Anthony situation. If we are to be more accurate, it is about how people are making jokes at his family's expense. After that, it gets even more depressing. Jared and Joseph discuss the week's most dominating story. Neither of the hosts has any idea how they are meant to feel. To finish the show, Seal helps the Relatively Speaking Podcast get back to its hilarious ways. World famous, and much beloved, AMAs returns this week. What memes are you sick of? Who should be playing next to Russell Westbrook? PSA: We love you all.…

The Relatively Speaking Podcast is back after the first weekend of the NBA Playoffs. Thanks to that, you just know the hot-takes have been baking in the over for several hours at this point. What were some of the weekend's biggest stories? Unfortunately, one of them was a tragic loss of a sibling for the best player on the Boston Celtics. After discussing Charles Barkley's comments on the video package aired before the game, Jared and Joseph explain how Boston isn't in trouble because they are bad, but because the Celtics will never have the best player on the floor in any round. Also, Danny Ainge must hate not trading the untouchable Terry Rozier, right? Right. Jared's boy -- Malcolm "College" Brogdon -- player well; Joseph's #PlayoffPortis hashtag is now a thing (it isn't but should be); and the Cleveland Cavaliers still don't play defense. It is worth noting that at some point, Jared once again tried to breakup the Clippers. The 2001 and 2002 NBA Drafts were randomly broken down! What in the hell is happening with the New York Knicks? Was Allan Houston a star? Did you know that LaVor Postell was the greatest shooting guard in the history of the NBA? To end this fine edition of the Relatively Speaking Podcast, Absurd Questions returns in all its glory. Jared wants to know about Joseph's crumb-outtake. Joseph wants to know if Jared would like to reignite the Blockbluster Video brand. PSA: If it ain't broken, don't fix it... but keeping it modern via timely upkeep would be wise.…

The Relatively Speaking Podcast is here to console you like the good friend it is. Your significant other cheated on you with your neighbor Walter? No worries! Anyway, this edition of the podcast is NBA Playoffs specific. To help Jared and Joseph discuss all the professional basketball tomfoolery, FanRag Sports' NBA Managing Editor, Jason Patt, joins the show. Whether or not he regretted his decision five minutes in is a question only he can answer. As it has become the show's custom, we get to know Jason with Five Rapid Fire Questions. We learned several interesting things about this talented writer during this segment. Most notably, he is pro-eating babies. As for the rest of the show: Does anyone have a shot at beating Golden State? Will the Cleveland Cavaliers coast through the East again? First round match-up you're most excited for? Any chance of a first round upset? Player(s) you're most looking forward to watching in the playoffs? Then the show ends as it always does, with Absurd Questions. Despite shoehorning some of them into the Rabid Fire Questions portion of the podcast, Jared and Joseph (and Jason) do their best to make the end of the program as hot as a million flame emoji, well, emojis. This was likely the greatest podcast ever recorded. You can ask anyone about this episode of the podcast, and you know what they would tell you? "That the Relatively Speaking Podcast with special guest Jason Patt was the best produced podcast in the history of all of podcasting." Something like that.…

The Relatively Speaking Podcast is here to help you ease into your work week. Why? Because that is just what friends do! This episode of the future award-winning podcast hits on some pretty important topics. James Harden recently said that wins are the most important aspect when discussing who should win the NBA MVP. What do Jared and Joseph think about that? It is complicated. The Sopranos did not age well. Tim Tebow is basically Barry Bonds. Do you know what ground bologna is? A weird headline caught both of the hosts' eyeballs this morning. It inspired a slew of bad jokes, all of which ended with "after grandma died." It is great... or maybe you had to be there. Did you watch baseball yet? Joseph and Jared have. The latter can even name nine members of the famed New York Yankees. As for the former, if you need great knowledge about Jay Bruce or the bottom-half of the first inning of the Marlins-Mets game, he is your go to source! Absurd Questions remains disturbingly absurd this week. Forget whatever the hell it was that Joseph asked, Jared brought a flamethrower to this awesome party. He would like to know how one would like to make babies if unable to do so by way of the traditional method. There were almost a billion answers to this fine and riveting question. The Relatively Speaking Podcast is back and Better Than Ezra! Today's show is so good that it will certainly alter your life forever. After discussing Teddy Ruxpin to begin the show (kind of), it is off to the land of misfit toys. Jared and Joseph discuss the latest words to come out the mouth of Lavar Ball. They weren't great works, but the guys are basically tired of everyone (including this podcast) giving him a platform because his sons -- and not Ball himself -- happen to be good at a sport. A smooth transition to Tony Romo heading to CBS is then head. Joseph makes the argument that he got the job the same way Phil Sims did, and that it won't matter because no one watches football games for the announcing teams. Jared thinks Romo is cute... or something. That Don't Look Good returns this week. It is a James Dolan special. Oddly, Joseph kind of gets where the awful NBA owner was coming from. Jared wasn't as kind with his thoughts on the man. To finish off what was surely a great work week for you fine members of the human species, the Relatively Speaking Podcast's AMA segment was great this week. This special post-NCAA title game show is a straight flame emoji on top of an ice cream emoji that is beside a 100 emoji. It is, seriously, that good. The show begins with Jared wishing Joseph a belated birthday, and the latter discussing how much closer to death he is. After the sadness, however, it is NCAA Tournament title game talk! Both of the hosts agree that the game was uglier than your really ugly friend. Teams shooting below 36 percent from three, foul troubles all over, and a flow to the game was never found. But it was a close game... so yay? Georgetown hired Patrick Ewing. Joseph and Jared have reasons for optimism, but also for concern. The dastardly duo discuss. Did you know that The Undertaker is a dead person? Well, he is -- at least in the world of wrestling. Despite being a reanimated corpse, this man from the afterlife somehow aged, decomposed and is no longer able to put on quality wrestling matches. Jared and Joseph say their goodbyes to the Deadman. Absurd Questions are patently absurd this week. For real. We, basically, find out that Joseph wants to be a vampire because he believes it will inch him closer to landing a date with Christina Ricci. It is time. Jared Mintz has returned from his long sabbatical of doing whatever in the heck it is that he does, and he has triumphantly returned to the Relatively Speaking Podcast. Jared thinks his lifelong quest of receiving a date from Christina Ricci isn't a realistic option, but Jessica Alba is in arm's reach. The Final Four begins on Saturday. The Relatively Speaking Podcast breaks the event down like no other audio preview in the world can do. That Don't Look Good rears its abominable head for some Luke Maye fun. A certain college basketball expert believes a kid averaging under 14 minutes per game is the fifth best player in the Final Four. Jared and Joseph politely point out that he's not a top 20 player left in the Big Dance, and isn't even the fifth best player on his own team. The co-hosts finally discuss the NBA MVP race. James Harden and Russell Westbrook appear to be the front-runners. Listen to find out how the dastardly duo split some hairs. Finally, one of the best AMA segments in the history of the podcast ends the show. King Kong vs The Hulk; Joseph's high school mistake; Jared choosing hoops over a woman; mild takes on Boston; Jared calling out Joseph's usage of a word while the latter points out some key hurtful analytics to the former... kids, the AMA was a bloodbath of fun and torture and giggles.…

The Relatively Speaking Podcast is back with a special midweek edition of the show. With the Final Four looming in the shadows, the podcast welcomes Fox Sports' Aaron Torres to the show to help break everything you need to know down. Unfortunately, due to scheduling conflicts, this resulted in Jared being unable to record the show. But the world need not worry, as Joseph is still around to barely form sentences with his mouth full of marbles. The format of this special episode is rather simple. For every Final Four related question Joseph asks Aaron, the college basketball expert has to answer something absurd. Yes, most certainly, things get interesting in a hurry. With Oregon coming off last season's trip to the NCAA Tournament as a one-seed, Aaron and Joseph discuss how in the hell the Ducks managed to be a surprising Final Four participant. How often does Aaron shave? Luke Maye? Yup. That is the question. No worries. More thoughts come off the vague, totally direct question. Who has the best hair in college basketball media? Our guest broke the first rule of talking about hair in media -- he didn't answer Joseph. How is South Carolina good? The Frank Martin story is absurd, fun and inspiring. Are the Gonzaga narratives dead? Aaron has been in Fox Sports 1 broadcasts. Joseph asks him what it is like to be famous? This is likely the best segment of the entire show. Joseph and Aaron give their Final Four predictions and admit there is nothing but luck involved when filling out a bracket. Finally, what sports network's college basketball staff would out drink the other: Fox Sports' of FanRag Sports'? You can follow Aaron on Twitter @Aaron_Torres. The Relatively Speaking Podcast is back. Some might even say that it is back and better than ever. With college basketball happening around us, but with a special guest lined up to help preview the Final Four for our next episode, Jared and Joseph take a deep dive into one of the world's most important philosophical discussions -- what would Tom Cruise movies look like if another human had to star in any one of his movies instead of him? Renowned NBA writer Josh Eberley -- who came up with a similar question for Friday's show -- joins the Relatively Speaking Podcast to offer insight to this complicated discussion. Minutes, hours, days, years (for Jared) was spent researching this mind-boggling difficult discussion. With roughly eleventy-billion credits to his career, Tom Cruise is a juggernaut in the movie industry. Joseph was able to cut the list to Tom's 30-ish most notable roles, and the magic then happened. Listen as the trio of terrificness that is Josh, Jared and Joseph recast Tom Cruise movies. The kicker here is that only an actor from the era the movie was filmed in can star in the role. Who plays Maverick in Top Gun? What about Cocktail? So many tremendous movie roles, and only a few quality thespians to fill the void left by Tom. If you care not to hear such wonderful insight, you should at the very least come for the creepy segment music. And, friends, it is very creepy. Josh is on Twitter @JoshEberley. The Relatively Speaking Podcast is going back, back to Cali. Okay. That is a lie. But the podcast is back and Better Than Ezra. That's right. Eat poop, early 1990s band! Anyway, the NCAA Tournament's first two rounds are in the books. Jared and Joseph consumed all the games, over all the days, so they can have all the takes. What are these takes? Are they best takes? Well, you can ask anybody about the Relatively Speaking Podcast's NCAA Tournament takes, and you know what they would tell you? That the Relatively Speaking Podcast's takes are the best takes, and it has huge hands. Jared and Joseph both agree what the biggest shockers are from the Big Dance. But the dastardly duo do also discuss how the things a lot of people are going bonkers over isn't all that big of a deal. As a transparent way to discuss the college basketball coaching carousel, Conspiracies Theories is back! Joseph claims that a certain coach is never going to quit, and will die doing what he loves most -- yelling at media and picking his nose in the sideline. After a very random WCW ramble, which was oddly inspired by Jared, the Relatively Speaking Podcast ends with Absurd Questions. Again, rather oddly, we learned some pretty neat things about our hosts. Mostly, despite apparently having a crippling desire to mounds and mounds of cocaine, Joseph wouldn't take the end of the world too badly. As for Jared, he hopes it rains pizza at some point. The key there being, that you should grab the slices that are in the middle if the pizza accumulation.…

The Relatively Speaking Podcast cares not for your NCAA Tournament bracket. Put down the social media device, refrain from telling us about what Cinderella is going to make a run, and realize that your hopes and dreams of winning whatever office pool you are in matters to us as much as we care about Larry from two blocks over. Yeah. Seriously. {Expletive} Larry! Hey, did you guys know Lonzo Ball is a good basketball player? Word on the mean streets of people having a brain tell us most of you do. Those same people, though, say his father, LaVarr, is as nuts as a two-headed unicorn. Jared and Joseph discuss everything happening in the Ball family home. Is it nuts? Is LaVarr using his kids for profit? Is daddy dearest actually a genius who is railing against the NCAA's free-labor system? So many gosh slam questions. Luckily for you, our friend, we have answers. Dana White has thoughts on the supposed "soon to happen" mega-fight between two athletes from two different sports. While few would care to see LeBron James play Darren Daulton in a game of jump rope, a nation wouldn't mind two prizefighters doing battle in a sport only one of the two of them actually participates in. Jared and Joseph, naturally, have even more thoughts! One of America's most favorite -- and lazily put together -- podcast segments is back! Ask Me Anything (AMA, for you cool kids), is a straight flame emoji this week. After receiving millions upon millions of tweets asking the hosts questions, the dastardly duo give planet Earth some answers! OK. Fine. Whatever. There were like 10 tweets. The Relatively Speaking Podcast is back and better than ever. What... you don't believe us? How can we prove such a thing? Well, we are incredibly glad you asked. After spending two weeks getting married, going on a honeymoon, and futile attempts at making babies, Jared Mintz is back to the podcast with all the rest a good human needs to bring a flame emoji with a verbal assault on the free world. Or, really, something like that. Since Jared has been gone for two weeks, the guys start the show quickly discussing some recent NBA happenings. This was after, mind you, the dastardly duo rambled about television shows and other random things to start this episode. After letting everyone know that Golden State and Cleveland are still the favorites, the Relatively Speaking Podcast turned its inanimate eye toward the NCAA Tournament. Hey, Syracuse, want to complain about not making the Big Dance? How about winning some games outside the Carrier Dome -- said an angered Jared Mintz. Joseph, per his contract, then rambled about people being happy and if they are happy, then you should be happy. Absurd Questions closes the show. More embarrassing: Food in the teeth or a booger hanging from the nose? What would Jared do if nine months from now his new wife gave birth to babies that were clearly not his? So, uh, how do we say this as kindly as humanly possible without coming off as huge jerks who are just trying to meet a specific wordcount at this point? Welcome back, Jared!…

This is the last edition of the Relatively Speaking Podcast before Jared Mintz returns from his two week quest of creating babies post-marriage. Luckily for the podcast, as well as or inept other co-host Joseph Nardone, Sam Vecenie guests on this episode. For those somehow unaware, Sam currently writes words on both college basketball and the NBA Draft for Sporting News and Vice. He also has his own podcast called Game Theory Podcast. Per typical 'we have a guest on' rules, the podcast begins with fan-favorite segment Five Random Questions. What did our high-volumed hair host ask Sam? Well, some of the questions concerned Sam's beard preference, if a lobster can take down a unicorn, as well as some thoughts concerning Mr. Pibb. Somehow, but not at all oddly, Five Random Questions turned into a million random questions, as Joseph had many followup queries. After alienating a large portion of the listenership that likely came to the podcast to hear Sam speak about college basketball, the guys discuss the idea of fixing the way one-bid leagues send teams to the NCAA Tournament. Sam and Joseph don't agree on all things related to the conversation, but quality insight is available for all to consume. What NBA Draft prospects is Sam excited to watch the rest of the way? Can Joseph lure him to jump on the Tacko Fall bandwagon? So many question. So many answers... if you listen to the podcast. To finish the show, Sam offers some sage advice for those looking to get into the media field. It should go without saying, but given the climate of how many use social media today, it had to be said. What was said? Again, listen to find out. You can follow Sam on Twitter @Sam_Vecenie. Lucky, handsome and/or beautiful and smart, you. You get to listen to the Relatively Speaking Podcast. Hooray, you! Or something like that. Jared Mintz remains pretending he is on his honeymoon when he is actually trophy hunting ants in Yonkers. As a special guest co-host on this edition of your favorite podcast, FanRag Sports Content Direction and MLB writer Tommy Stokke joins the broadcast. The show begins with Joseph trying to let Tommy introduce himself through five questions. Tommy, on the other hand, treated it like an interrogation. Our special guest co-host does not really believe in speeding up baseball. The guys discuss. What Conspiracy Theories does the Relatively Speaking Podcast have up its sleeve this week? Well, Tommy wasn't sure if Michael Jordan actually retired from basketball the first time around or if he was suspended. Joseph believes we are all ants in an intergalactic ant-farm -- because of course that is he what he believes. The peak of the show may have been the duo's discussions about steroids in both baseball and in sports in general. Joseph, as long as it is regulated, is very pro-let's get jacked. As for Tommy, he is slightly more tepid in his willingness, but isn't totally against it. As it does every single week, the Relatively Speaking Podcast with Absurd Questions. With Jared Mintz still off on his honeymoon, the Relatively Speaking Podcast welcomes its second new partner into the figurative bedroom. On this edition, it is talented MMA writer, and all-around solid member of the human species, Kristian Ibarra. As it is tradition whenever a guest co-host enters the figurative octagon, Joseph asks Kristian a series of questions to help the listeners to get to know our new friend. Among some of the renowned queries were about the combat-sports writer's fisticuff skills, whether or not he would be cool going on a voyage with aliens, and several other high-quality questions. After that, it is to Kristian's wheelhouse -- the UFC. The Relatively Speaking Podcast asks our favorite MMA writer why the UFC is the best! After that, we then ask him why the company is the worst! He gives answers to both questions. They are good answers. The best answers. In fact, you can ask anyone and they will tell you that, yes, they were the greatest answers to those two questions ever. That Don't Look Good returns this week. Kristian waxes poetic about his mother being snoopy. Joseph discusses sending very private text messages to the wrong person. Ask Me Anything caps off this wonderful episode of the planet's greatest podcast. All you need to know is that by the end of it, the FanRag Sports' fourth-wall might not be broken, but it was certainly hit with a blanket. The Relatively Speaking Podcast is back with more vengeance than any Bruce Willis movie. This is a special edition of the podcast, as usual co-host Jared Mintz is off celebrating his marriage to the only woman on the planet capable of dealing with his New York Knicks hot-takes. Thanks to that, the podcast has a very special guest co-host. FanRag Sports' own, and all around thespian, Alex Kolodziej makes his first ever appearance on the Relatively Speaking Podcast -- and the game has been changed forever. After Joseph butchers pronouncing his last name, find out some important personal information about Alex. Then it is off to actual sports conversation. Alex and Joseph discuss the most overrated franchises in all of sports. Alex comes with some hot-takes concerning the Dallas Cowboys and Michigan Wolverines, all while Joseph spends five quality minutes bashing DePaul basketball. How would these two geniuses fix Major League Baseball? Something about murdering outfielders and creating a situation in which the best newspaper headlines ever are used. Conspiracy Theories return this week, and does Alex ever have a bunch of them. After rattling off how many stalwarts are actually lies, Alex decides to let mankind know that scouting combine and player evaluations are all a scam. This will change your life. Joseph's is not as fun. The show ends up with fan-favorite segment Absurd Questions. Joseph wants to know if Alex can beat up one of America's cinematic darlings... and of course he can. Alex asks about people who sit on the same side of the booth as the other when the seat across is open. Those people, in our humble opinions, are the worst. Talk about being spoiled, listener. Anyway, we are only hours removed from the 2017 NBA trade deadline. Not a ton of big moves happened, but Jared would argue it was the moves that didn't actually happen that were the story of the idea. As for Joseph, he believes that there were a few notable trades. Ask Me Anything helped the show get off the ground with trade stuff. The New York Knicks did what they tend to do (nothing good), while someone asked of Danny Ainge should be on the hot-seat (no). Then a brand new segment was invented just so Joseph could create new theme music. It is more NBA trade deadline related stuff, but Magic Johnson being named the President of Basketball Operations for the Los Angeles Lakers is a highly touched on subject. Many other topics were touched on. In fact, you can ask anybody about what the hosts touched on, and you know what they would tell you? Fresh off the NBA All-Star Weekend, the Relatively Speaking Podcast is ready to jam information, insight and entertainment inside your cranium. The show begins with what is easily the largest happening over the weekend. With the Sacramento Kings sending Boogie Cousins to the New Orleans Pelicans for three peanuts, Buddy Hield and a six-pack of McNuggets, Jared and Joseph both verbally ponder the decision to finally deal the talented big man. With the discussion getting heated, it morphs into another topic concerning the use of the term "unicorn" to describe big men in today's NBA. Both Jared and Joseph believe that the term is used, and that if unicorns are meant to be rare, having so many of them in a sport makes it pointless. Do we expect any other big NBA trades to happen before the trade deadline? The answer is mostly a no, but some possible scenarios are mentioned. Bad Tweets is gone the way of the dinosaurs, friends. But no need to worry, as a replacement segment has been added to the Relatively Speaking Podcast. Today is the debut of Conspiracy Theories, and the world will never be the change. The show ends with Absurd Questions. Or, more accurately, Joseph changes Jared's world view forever by introducing him to the Mandela Effect theory. Jared has his own Absurd Question to add to this specific segment, but by the time the guys get to it, they aren't so sure about Sinbad being in a genie-movie at all. The Relatively Speaking Podcast is back and Better Than Ezra. That's right, band from the 1990s. This podcast thinks it is better than you. So, uh, what you going to do about it? Nothing! That's what we thought. On this edition of the Relatively Speaking Podcast, we are just a wee-bit NBA heavy. Not that should put sadness in your hearts. Not only because basketball is what the hosts are best at discussing, but let's be honest about the obvious... if you're listening to this, you likely have no heart, soul or any sort of emotional barometer. The guys take a look back at the first half of the NBA season. Some fictitious awards are given out, and fun is had by all but Jared. Then it is NBA All-Star Weekend preview. What are the guys excited to see? Who will win what contest? So much NBA info. So little time. This Friday edition of the Relatively Speaking Podcast ends as all great podcast should; With a lazily put together segment essentially created by crowd sourcing! We kid. It's not THAT lazily put together. But it is our fan-favorite segment, Ask Me Anything. Oddly, this segment is probably mislabeled, as there are two people, and the word "me" makes a person think of a singular season, but there is two hosts. Here is to hoping you had a great weekend because the Relatively Speaking Podcast is here to help you regret everything you failed to accomplish. All jokes aside (maybe), it was a pretty terrific sports weekend. This episode of the Relatively Speaking Podcast begins with Kevin Durant's return to Oklahoma City. While the crowd was busy being scorned lovers and chanting cupcake for some reason, Durant and the Warriors simply destroyed the Thunder. Jared and Joseph discuss why it is rather comical that OKC fans were that heated for one of their former players returning to play. Also of note, Russell Westbrook narratives have been flipped 180 degrees. Both Jared and Joseph are cool with it, but do find great irony in the idea that we are cool with Russ screaming smacktalk when down 18 points now, but in 2014 he would have been murdered for it. Portland and Denver trades some pieces this weekend. Twitter nearly lost its mind over it. Our heroic hosts, on the other hand, say this trade -- in the grand scheme of things -- means about as much as that time a person awkwardly gazed at you from across the room in the break room. The NCAA Tournament Selection Committee did its first ever early-look at the top-16 seeds. Neither host is angered about this. Joseph, however, does shoehorn in a Duke hot-take as well as some love for Stony Brook coach Jeff Boals. Absurd Questions is fun this week. Jared's question involves the Grammy's... in which neither of the hosts actually watched. Joseph's had to do with a member of the human species being a basketball program or something. Likely something, but whatever with the semantics.…

Hello, friends. It is your best buddy from the past. Well, technically not the past, but what you are currently reading was written well before you put your wonderful set of eyes on it. Anyway, the Relatively Speaking Podcast is back with the fury of 1,259 suns. For those not in the know, that is a hell of a lot of fury. The pesky New York Knicks made their way back into the pod for this episode. Phil Jackson is apparently using social media to get rid of Carmelo Anthony (such a Millennial thing to do, Phil), James Dolan is supposedly feuding with one of the most beloved Knicks players of all-time, and the laughing stock isn't anywhere near completion. This makes Jared #Sad!. Very, very #Sad!. As for Joseph, he believes the Knicks' incompetence makes for excellent content and he is more than ready to fire of some hot-takes for the sake of spewing the most lukewarm vile this side of the Rocky Mountains. Lonzo Ball is awesome. You know that, right? No need to compare him to Magic Johnson to comprehend his level of excellence. Grayson Allen is good again... maybe. But the narrative is already started to spin. The polarizing player's rise back to being a decent player is because he is, uh, happy. This edition of the show ends with a special edition of Absurd Question. With Jared going on his Bachelor Party this weekend, he wants to know what Joseph would change about his. Did you know, that when it snows, the Relatively Speaking Podcast is celebrating its one-year anniversary? Seriously. that's a real thing that happens with this wonderful edition of the podcast. Before we begin brainstorming about the state of the Relatively Speaking Podcast toward the end of the episode, the hosts start the show with the hottest topic hitting social media the day after the Super Bowl -- did Joseph eat cheesecake? After that wonderful discussion, Jared and Joseph discuss -- for real this time -- everything Super Bowl related. Both don't want to play the blame game, but are more than happy to sing the praises of Tom Brady. Does the former Michigan gunslinger become the great QB of all-time after winning his fifth Super Bowl? Only one way to find out. Bad Tweets, which might not return after this week, is concerning all the hot-takes from pre-Brady going bonkers and a city that too firmly implants sports as part of their identity. Terrell Owens didn't make the NFL Hall of Fame. This is a travesty, and Jared and Joseph will tell you why. To finish off the show, it is Absurd Questions. Jared brought two of them to the mix while Joseph wants to know if boinking Tom Brady would be cool. Jared's second Absurd Question is very show-specific. After all, the Relatively Speaking Podcast is celebrating its one-year anniversary. If you want to get a peak behind the curtains as to how this show works, the last segment of this episode is most certainly a must listen scenario. The Super Bowl is looming around the corner like a man who is ready to steal your wallet. Since that seems important, the Super Bowl and not the robber, Jared and Joseph figured it would be a good idea to discuss the game. What team will win? Why? Is Tom Brady the son of Zeus? So many questions, and the Relatively Speaking Podcast has all the answers. Pat McAfee retired to join the wonderful world of digital media. The hosts wish him luck. In this episode's That Don't Look Good, the NBA's rookie symposium is apparently as crazy as a four-headed horse. We can't actually write what was the biggest reported takeaway from the event, but the guys do banter about it. Bradley Beal appears to be good. Jared yells about that for a few seconds. The Relatively Speaking Podcast is back with the force of 1,000 suns. Is that a good or a bad thing? There is only a singular way to find out, and that involves you allowing your ears to consume what is arguably the single greatest podcast with hosts named Jared and Joseph. This edition's episode opens with basketball Twitter opening up its arms to help a cause. While some may disagree with what is being advocated for (or against), it is nice to see people using their -- even if only limited -- celebrity to help causes they believe in. Bad Tweets is back and better than ever. We were going to simply embed both bad tweets this week, but one of the geniuses realized his tweet was so awful that he has since deleted it. No worries, however, as Jared was smart enough to save the tweet so we can all point and laught. Royal Rumble hot-takes become a part of this episode thanks to one of the Bad Tweets. Joseph argues that if you hate something so much, you know, maybe you should no longer consume it. Would you like to see a boxer fistfight an MMA fighter in a boxing match? This question appears to be all the rage om combat sports circles, and while both hosts believe the fight will never actually happen, they would be more than happy to watch. The Relatively Speaking Podcast in all its infamous glory. Right up there with Billy The Kid and Egon Spangler as hugely important historical figures, the Relatively Speaking Podcast is here to help you ease into your weekend. LeBron James called out the front office of the Cleveland Cavaliers. He, apparently, wants another player of relative value on the roster. Joseph feels him, as James averaging the most minutes per game in the NBA seems silly. As for Jared, he sees it more both sides of the fence. A terrible, always winning, fence. Hey, the Chicago Bulls seem like a disaster. Veteran leaders calling out everyone on the roster. Rajon Rondon clapping back. Fred Hoiberg being, well, dreamy -- of course. Both Jared and Joseph think it is time for the Bulls to blowup the team. Ask Me Anything segment: If you can pick any singular player in the history of an NBA Franchise and insert him on today's team, who would it be and why? For what it is worth, Joseph goes on a four minute role player rant. Coach K banned Duke things from Duke players. Jared is a Duke fan so he is a homer, but does a good job offsetting Joseph who gets a bit heavy handed with his critiques of the coach. Who are the most powerful sport media people? The Relatively Speaking Podcast is back to keep you warm in these winter months. Also, to give you the best entertainment this side of getting slapped in the face with a fun-stick. Yes. Jared and Joseph discuss the rather obvious awesome that will come from this game. You know, that all the points should be scored because neither team is all that great on defense. They are, however, pretty swell on the offensive side of the ball. Bad Tweets this week is mostly about horrible takes concerning made up narratives. Someone was angry about something to do with Julio Jones... over a thing that never happened. Politics in sports is not ideal to many human beings. The Relatively Speaking Podcast gets that, but does like that certain NBA coaches have begun speaking their mind in regard to certain topics. To start the show, Jared forces Joseph to discuss NBA All-Star starter snubs. While Joseph continuously tells him that he does not care (as long as we find out who Joel Embiid's mystery woman is), Jared discusses this entire situation in earnest and without irony. After that, the guys talk about the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame. Mostly, that it is a joke for letting in guys with steroid scandal clouds of their heads, but won't allow the greatest baseball player to ever put his foot on a blade of grass, Barry Bonds, to get inducted. With an eye on the future, Jared and Joseph discuss who are realistic choices to fill the void from the 6-10 slot in the mornings. The gentlemen who host the show discuss. Absurd Questions is a bit iffy this week. Jared wonders about intimate scenes in movies. Joseph, on the other hand, wants to know why you would get into any business if all you're going to do is be a thief. Great stuff, honestly. Probably the best podcast ever recorded. It also has huge hands.…

Jared Mintz is back. After a singular episode hiatus in which Jared pretended to be sick, but was really out hustling for that cheddar, the Relatively Speaking Podcast is better and as good as it ever was. The show begins with NBA trade talk. With the Cleveland Cavaliers and Atlanta Hawks moving some parts (hi, Kyle Korver), it appears as though the latter is punting on the season. In turn, it means NBA franchises across the North American continent will be looking to puck talent from Atlanta like it owes them money. Who goes where and how much will they cost? Grayson Allen is back. Apparently, indefinite means one in the realm of Duke. Anyway, Joseph and Jared discuss his return the action, as well as the reaction to it. Do you care about the NFL Playoffs? The Relatively Speaking Podcast doesn't. At least not yet. Rather, the dynamic duo used what was meant to be time allotted to discuss the weekend's games to banter about their all-time favorite backup quarterbacks. Michael Bishop, Ray Lucas and Bubby Brister all, obviously, mentioned. Ask Me Anything also returns this week. Fans want to know what was the hosts' most heartbreaking moments as sports fans. Jared, being a Knicks and Jets fan, had about a billion of them. Joseph, on the other hand, hates Joe Carter. Another rather handsome fan wants to know when the podcast is firing Jared Mintz and will be moving on to Tommy Stokke, who guest co-hosted on Monday.…

The Relatively Speaking Podcast is back to start your 2017 in correct order. Unfortunately, regular co-host Jared Mintz is out sick due to singing far too loud on New Year's Eve, and an emergency replacement had to be found. Luckily for the millions of listeners, Joseph Nardone was able to find a relatively famous co-host to spot host during those difficult times. FanRag Sports Content Director, and the man who broke the Chris Sale ripping uniforms into shreds news, Tommy Stokke steps in to fill the void left by Jared's need to rest and recover. Some MLB things were discussed, but not too much. Rather, the dynamic duo began with the topic of college basketball -- or, really, how messed up the sport has been since the season began. All the upsets. After that, it is off to the realm of MLB Hall of Fame discussions. Also, the guys somehow plug the back-to-back-to-back AAU national champions. Bad Tweets is about the attempt to separate life from art, and how the use of Bubble Guppies in poor context is as evil as that time something evil really happened. This episode closes as do all Monday shows, with Absurd Questions. Joseph was able to crack the Tommy Stokke code. We learned many things about the baseball columnist and reporter. We learned what he would do for a living if he didn't scribble slapstick words, and what he most definitely would not do. We also find out what Joseph's first day in the FanRag Sports office would be like if he were ever man enough to go visit.…

The Relatively Speaking Podcast is here to help you prep from embarrassing yourself in the final seconds of 2016. Not really, though, as we much rather you attempt to make a move on someone a few dozen times out of your league. NFL Week 17 Picks (Jared Mints 43-37, Joseph Nardone 49-31) Browns at Steelers Bills at Jets Giants at Skins Raiders at Broncos Packers at Lions After Joseph gets done destroying Jared in their seasonal battle of who is better than the other at winning money, it is on to discuss more important things. Best of/Worst of 2016 Best: Cleveland Cavaliers and Chicago Cubs winning titles. Netflix original content. Much, much more. Worst: Sports Twitter. Loads of self-deprecation. Joseph and Jared have a hot-take concerning celebrity deaths. AMA @14TeamMocker is the kid crossing up the white lady on 23rd vid fake? Is it ok to laugh at obvious fake vids? @playorbplayd If Eric taught Jameel his moves and Jameel taught Ty his moves then who taught Eric his moves? @givenupomlife why do people pretend five guys is special The AMA is normally when the show ends, but somehow Jared and Joseph end up talking much longer about condiments, Seal, getting chubby, life, and many other aspects of things that are so important you must listen or you will melt into the fabric of space and time. The Relatively Speaking Podcast survived a fatman trying to break in its house on Sunday. That is good news for you, the listener, because it means the flame emoji duo is back and better than ever! With the NFL season winding down, but with a lot of playoff quarterbacks hitting the injured reserve, Jared and Joseph discuss the team that was likely hurt most by their gunslinger succumbing to the violence in the gridiron; the Oakland Raiders. Do the Raiders have enough to overcome such an injury this late in the season? What team is now the second best in the AFC? What is a Tom Savage? After some National Football League stories are discussed, the Relatively Speaking Podcasts turns its attention to the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors. More specifically, the awesomeness this is LeBron James. What were Jared and Joseph's hot-takes from the game? You will just have to listen to find out. The Relatively Speaking Podcast double-dipped the Absurd Questions portion of the podcast this week. Jared's two questions were about heaven and hell, and about what NBA player is likely to pass the most natural gass. Joseph's two questions were about starting a television show, as well as something about being abducted by aliens as a thing that makes the guys irrationally happy. You can follow Jared on the mean, cold, dark streets of Twitter @JMintzHoops. The Relatively Speaking Podcast is here to help you ease into a festive move for the weekend. Apparently, according to sources, a fatman is going to attempt to break into your house by way of a chimney on Sunday. Don't say you weren't warned, Humans. On this episode of the greatest podcast in the history of the world, NBA Hoop Mag writer Josh Eberley joins to add some insight to several areas. A large portion of the podcast focuses on #NBATwitter. Things ranging from hivemind, to making moves in the business, all the way to what are some of the pet-peeves within that Twitter subsection was discussed. Writers/bloggers will truly enjoy that segment, as well as get some advice, and general fans will become slightly more informed of the behind-the-scenes structure of basketball media. After that, however, the Relatively Speaking Podcast's sensibilities rear its ugly head, as Jared and Joseph ask Josh 15 random questions. Some of them shooty hoops related. Others, well, not so much. Is George Karl super evil? We ask Josh. Is Boogie Cousins only somewhat evil. We also ask Josh. To finish this episode of your favorite podcast this side of the universe, fan favorite segment Absurd Questions returns. Jared would like to know what character in a movie you want to be. Joseph wants to know something about infants and adults cheating on people. Josh forces a Brad Pitt loving nation into picking between two of his most beloved movies. Have a great holiday, no matter how you celebrate it!…

It is Monday. That is a boo-type of situation. It is also the return of the Relatively Speaking Podcast. That will likely make you feel the opposite emotions that usually come with the Monday blues, as it is the greatest podcast in the history of the world. Seriously. You can ask anybody about the Relatively Speaking Podcast, and they will all say the same: "The Relatively Speaking Podcast is the greatest podcast in the history of mankind." On this edition of the podcast, the guys start the show by discussing two NFL teams who apparently need more respect. For Jared, it is the New York Giants and the Green Bay Packers. For Joseph, he thinks football is super violent. The Houston Texans finally benched their big offseason signing who was apparently a quarterback. What a (Tom) Savage move, in the Relatively Speaking Podcast's opinion. Kentucky Wildcats guard Malik Monk went bonkers against the North Carolina Tar Heels. Also, Tacko Fall is more than just a 7-6 humanoid... Joseph thinks he's on the verge of playing his way into NBA Mock Draft experts' first-round. Bad Tweets is as historically bad as ever. It is how the segment works, to be honest. As for Absurd Questions, it is once again a situation where you will just have to listen to understand the veracity of absurdness that comes with this segment. You can, if you dare, follow Jared on the mean streets of Twitter @JMintzHoops. If you want to do a similar thing with the other, less articulate host, you can @JosephNardone.…

Sadly, the usually upbeat podcast begins by honoring Craig Sager, who unfortunately passed away on Thursday. Jared and Joseph share some fond memories and attempt to put it in perspective. That Don't Look Good returns this week. What doesn't look good? Well, it depends on who you ask, as this isn't an agreed upon segment this week. First one is about LeBron James resting and the backlash the ensued. The second? The Atlanta Braves general manager's Twitter advice! Week 15 picks also happened. Joseph is leading the season in picking the correct games. He is 41-29 while Uncle Jared is 38-22. A fun Ask Me Anything segment closes this episode. Five questions were asked, and all five were answered. "@varoonbose Could a team made up of only Kentucky players (in the NBA) win the title? Who starts? Bench? Who doesn’t make the team? Coach?" "@Knickfan_4life will phil sign another deal to stay with the Knicks?" The Relatively Speaking Podcast is back with the heart of a lion and the desire to please of a person who really likes to please. In what is widely accepted as the greatest podcast in the history of podcasts, allow the Relatively Speaking Podcast to wash over you like a warm shower. There are topics discussed today, for what it is worth. What did the outcome of Dallas-New York mean, if anything? What is wrong with the Seattle Seahawks? Are the Green Bay Packers the packiest Packers in the history of the franchise? Bad Tweets got a small retool for this week, as it is Good Tweets. It is hard to explain, so you'll simply have to listen. Then, for reasons only known to Jared and Joseph, the hosts decide to look at the 2014 and 2015 NBA Drafts and call players either "busts" or "no busts" without any nuance proper context allowed. While not their finest moment, it is their first time fully embracing #NBATwitter. Absurd Questions: What actors are ugly? That's what Jared wants to know. As for Joseph, he speaks a ton of words about the Fast and Furious movie franchise because life is too great. And that is pretty much the show in a nutshell. It might not seem like a ton, but it is easily the greatest podcast in the history of the greatest podcast ever made. So, yeah... there's that! The Relatively Speaking Podcast in all its glory, which means you get to enter the weekend with a solid case of the giggles. The New York Knicks are off to a rather surprisingly solid start. However, one Mr. Phil Jackson keeps opening up his mouth-hole to discuss things with the media he probably shouldn't. His latest being the president of basketball operations calling Carmelo Anthony a player who holds on to the ball too much... which is odd when you consider there are two other people on his team who hold the ball longer than him. Do the Los Angeles Clippers stink? No! Lazily crowd sourced segment Ask Me Anything is back (with fake Seal, of course) this week. "Do you think Chris Paul ever wins a championship in such a crowded competitive conference?" "At what point do the Clippers consider getting something for CP3 and BG before they leave in seven months?" "Am I allowed to believe the NBA is fixed to get big market teams against each other in 6/7 game series?" The guys answer those questions in earnest. We'd like to say that the show ended with Jared and Joseph's Week 14 NFL picks, but that would only be a half-truth. After discussing about Joseph's dominance over Jared in the standings, the greatest NFL game-picker this side of Al Pacino in Two For The Money asks Jared a very random, very absurd, very unsettling question. What was the question? Listen if you want to find out! I mean, you can just fast-forward toward the end if you're that impatient.…

The Relatively Speaking Podcast is here to help you come down from what was surely a fire emoji weekend filled with College Football Playoff hot-takes, trips to the movie theater, and a slew of chicken wings. Apparently, we guess, the National Football League's biggest talking point being had after Sunday is Cam Newton failing to wear a tie, which resulted in a one-series benching. While most of America will turn this into a discussion regarding responsibility or if the Carolina Panthers overreacted, Joseph is concerned because turtlenecks are so 2001. The Pittsburgh Steelers looked awesome. Jared discussed their new big-three. Why is Alex Smith the Andrew Bogut of the NFL? The Detroit Lions are good... we think. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are officially a thing! Bad Tweets returns this week. What do you get when you combine poorly chosen words with a hyperbolic statement? A spot on this segment. Also, we've had enough of Draymon Green's flailing legs. To end what turned out to be the best podcast in the history of podcasts (seriously, you can ask anybody), Absurd Questions closes the show with these two gems: What is your favorite holiday movie and what would you change about it? You might have heard that they are a quality football team, but now that their polar bear playing tight end is hurt, are they still the favorites in the AFC? That Don't Look Good makes its triumphant return this week. One aspect of it has to deal with the NFL suspending a player who is missing a large part of his intestines. The other? Jeff Fisher apparently planning to play the 2011 Patriots. NFL Week 13 Picks! Lions at Saints Texans at Packers Giants at Steelers Skins at Cardinals Colts at Jets Ask Me Anything also returns, but with a MONUMENTAL surprise (it is new segment music). The Relatively Speaking Podcast is back after a grueling Thanksgiving weekend hangover. Luckily for the loyal fan base that is those who regularly listen to these episodes, Jared and Joseph drank a gallon of Red Bull each and are ready to entertain you with one bad dad joke at a time. As do most Monday shows, this episodes opens up with some NFL thoughts. Jared takes the long road in an effort to find out why Joseph stinks at picking games. Joseph takes a more shorter road to yell at Jared about things he made up totally on the fly. Also, the Oakland Raiders appear to be very good at the professional football. Who knew? Bad Tweets returns this week. One concerns a certain cornerback from the New York Giants turning to Twitter to say some odd things. The other, well, is about a member of #NBATwitter using a random game from late November to bury a basketball team's chances to do damage in the playoffs. Hey, you. Yeah... you! The Relatively Speaking Podcast is fresh off getting as chubby as humanly possible in a world a day removed from Thanksgiving. Luckily for the listeners, both of the hosts fought through their food hangovers to bring you the best podcast in the history of all other podcasts. In fact, all other podcasts are just sad! Doing their best 311 impersonation, the guys try to mix things up this week by doing fan-favorite segment Ask Me Anything to start the show. One of the questions, regarding verbiage used to describe turkey, sets the tone for the entire episode -- for better or worse. After some questionable answers to the AMA segment, the Relatively Speaking Podcast moves on to That Don't Look Good. This week's version of the segment involves the feud happening on the field, during the post-game, and on the mean streets of Twitter, between Dez Bryant and Josh Norman. Jared thinks it is great and Joseph would hug the feud if given a chance. Week 12 NFL picks also rears its beautiful head this week. Only two games separate Jared and Joseph. To close the show, somehow Hang Time and Hanging With Mr. Cooper gets brought up. Potentially two of the greatest sports-related TV shows in the history of broadcasting, the guys make a case to bring back both shows as one, with Mark Cooper becoming the head coach in Hang Time. The Relatively Speaking Podcast is here to help you start your Turkey Week off on the right foot. Luckily for you, those who celebrate by eating plenty of turkey, the guys are going to help you out in that area. More on that later. Jared was dying to discuss how awesome the NFC East is. While Joseph tentatively agrees, listen as the former waxes poetic about the greatness of the New York Giants all while the latter is trying to point to the close wins as evidence that maybe they aren't that good. The Dallas Cowboys remain awesome. The Washington football team is also playing well. Does this, in turn, make the division the best in all of the NFL? Bad Tweets is broken up into two different parts this week. The first one is concerning some Aaron Rodgers hot-takes. The second is about the idea of Carmelo Anthony being selfish. For both, everyone needs to R-E-L-A-X, though Jared goes rather hard at Melo. James Harden is gnarly at the game of basketball this season. So, too, is Joel Embiid. More discussions are had involving both men. Both Absurd Questions this week revolve around Thanksgiving. Jared's is about food, and Joseph's has to deal with a murder mystery because of course it has to do with something not relevant at all to the subject matter being discussed. Jared begins the show making fun of him for being sideways for the first few minutes of it. Scary stuff. After the bad jokes get out of the way, it is on to more serious topics. The biggest of the week was likely Phi Jackson's comments about LeBron James and his business partners. The handsomely paired duo discuss what all that stuff was about. Bad Tweets is making a special Friday appearance on this week's show. The guys don't start with college basketball, however. Instead, they focus their attention on the NFL. The Seahawks did great things against the Patriots. Does it mean anything? Dallas upends Pittsburgh. Tony Romo may never see the light of day again. What in the Sam Cassell is going on with the Green Bay Packers? Bad Tweets returns his week. If you want to end up on this segment, a good way to do that is to call anyone "the poor man's" anyone else and/or bring up conspiracy theories concerning leagues wanting to force owners out of the sport. Then, finally, a college basketball preview (kind of)! Luke Kennard is the Marty Jannetty to Grayson Allen's HBK. Thomas Bryant is pretty dang good at the shooty hoops. The much hyped Dennis Smith Jr. isn't playing all too well to start his career. Washington has a great freshman. He's worth your time. The show is capped off with Absurd Questions. The Relatively Speaking Podcast is here in a brand new world. Well, it is the same as the previous one, but now it got a bit more strange. That said, we won't comment on any of that because we like to #StickToSports. Jared starts the show by yelling at his co-host for a variety of reasons. After the handsomely crafted duo hash their issues out, they discuss the Los Angeles Clippers. One host thinks Doc Rivers has his team positioned to be the third best squad in the entire NBA. The other, well, he wants to discuss nepotism. Joseph is really concerned about the Washington Wizards. Furthermore, he wants to know if Bradley Beal is just really bad at basketball, or stinks, or should be sent to Mars because him supposedly being the "next Ray Allen" is clearly science-fiction work at its worst. The Cleveland Cavaliers visisted the White House, and all the guys can think about is all the funny things that happened during the team's meeting of the President. NFL Week 10 Picks: Bears at Bucs Broncos at Saints Chiefs at Panthers Warrick Davis movie recap for some odd reason. Cowboys at Steelers Seahawks at Patriots Ask Me Anything segment: "Why is Kanye so historically overrated?" What did the Relatively Speaking Podcast learn over the weekend? That the National Football League isn't all that great. Between too many flags, with far too many quarterbacks refusing to hurl the ball down the field, and without there being many good offensive lines in the league, Joseph and Jared have had enough of it. However, they will still speak words about the sport because people love the violence on the gridiron, and who the heck are they to tell you to hate that loathsome game? The Oakland Raiders win yet again. Are they good, really good, or excellent? What's going on with the Denver Broncos? Something tells us it has to do with the QB situation. Should people be concerned with the Pittsburgh Steelers? Sam Bradford is a coward! The Dallas Cowboys are the world's gift to the sport, in our humble opinion. Bad Tweets returns this week: Jared is super angry about someone preventing fun in the NFL. Joseph is not as angry. After that, the hosts pivot to some NBA talk. Stop overreacting to every Golden State Warriors game, humans. Are the Los Angeles Lakers bad-fun, decent-fun, or good-fun? Joel Embiid ends up being talked about as well. Mostly because the Relatively Speaking Podcast can't discuss him enough. Also, the Chicago Bulls are bad at defense. Who say that coming? Oh, yeah... mostly everyone. It is also worth noting, with Nov. 8 looming, this may very well be the last weekend many of us humans get to enjoy our stay on this specific dimension of space and time (go out and vote, kids). Kevin Durant got his first taste of facing his old team on Thursday night, and does that guy ever enjoy consuming some bitter shade -- or something. Jared and Joseph discuss Golden State walloping Oklahoma City, and determine that the game doesn't mean all that much, but it was still fun to see Durant go bonkers. A League of Their Own somehow makes an appearance during this discussion. What did the guys realize during it? That Dottie Hinson, the character played by Geena Davis, is mentally soft. Jaylen Brown is decent at basketball. The Cleveland Cavaliers are very good at it. Week 9 National Football League Picks: Cowboys at Browns Lions at Vikings Colts at Packers Broncos at Raiders Bills at Seahawks After we make our loyal listeners tons of cash money, the totally original and not at all stolen from other more popular shows, AMA, returns. After getting the warranted CJ Prosise love out of the way, Jared and Joseph move their immediate attention to the wonderful world of the NBA. What stood out to the guys as of late? Well, we are glad you asked. Russell Westbrook is lighting the league on fire. Good thing too, as the Oklahoma City Thunder are set to face the Golden State Warriors on Thursday. It will be the first regular season game in which Kevin Durant faces his old squad. Shenanigans surely await. The New Orleans Pelicans are ruining Anthony Davis. Boo, them, in out hosts' less than humble opinions. Is the success the Chicago Bulls have had sustainable? As far as the National Football League is concerned, Jared wants to know if everyone should be worried about the Seattle Seahawks. The Relatively Speaking Podcast is very easily the best podcast named Relatively Speaking in the land. All other sports-related podcasts are just sad. Anyway, the NBA season is currently in full-swing. Since Jared and Joseph are such experts in that realm, many things involving grown man in shorts attempting to put a ball through a cylinder is discussed. The guys both believe that we should all be trusting the process as far as the Philadelphia 76ers are concerned. Jared makes an argument that the San Antonio Spurs will go 82-0 (kind of). Why do the New Orleans Pelicans still stink despite Anthony Davis clearly being an alien? Random Bradley Beal slander! The New York Knicks stink... obviously. After even more NBA things are discussed, the Relatively Speaking Podcast moves on to its biggest -- literally -- money maker, with the guys' week eight NFL picks. The games being picked are: Patriots at Bills Seahawks at Saints Chiefs at Colts Jets at Browns Cardinals at Panthers To finish off this Friday edition of the show, fan-favorite segment Ask Me Anything returns! Locked in a movie theater for life, allowed to watch only 3 TV shows. what are they and why? What’s the ideal closing lineup for the Lakers? The answers to those questions will not only haunt you for the rest of your mortal life, but will follow you into the afterlife in an effort to take your soul. Follow Jared on the mean streets of Twitter @JMintzHoops. You can do the same with the other guy @JosephNardone.…

It is Monday. Many are mourning the losses -- or one loss (no spoilers here) -- of characters being walloped to the point of no return in The Walking Dead. Luckily for you, humans, the Relatively Speaking Podcast is here to help you overcome this insane adversity. Jared and Joseph start the show glossing over the NFL. Both believe the weekend was a bit of a dull. For what it is worth, they did manage to find a new show mascot, however. This leads us to the best segment in all of podcasting history, Bad Tweets. Jared uses one that involves calling the San Diego Chargers the second best team in the AFC. Joseph pulls one from those mean streets that is boycotting the NBA over someone else boycotting something else entirely. America is grand isn't it? After brand new music, the guys do a deep dive into the NBA. Underrated, overrated, MVP candidates, random Bill Russell slander, all involved in this glorious, if not downright life-changing, preview segment. Absurd Questions is as absurd as usual this week. Joseph wants Forrest Gump to end with Tom Hanks being stepped on by dinosaur ridden by Christian Slater. Jared wants to know what team from another era would be neat to watch in today's NBA (the answer is none). Follow Jared on the mean, dark, cold streets of Twitter @JMintzHoops. You can do the same with the other host who is less articulate @JosephNardone. PS: If you're feeling froggy my friends, then jump, Merica.…

The weekend is near. Luckily for you, friend, the Relatively Speaking Podcast is here to help you reach it by way of super heavy societal issues... and bad jokes. After starting the show discussing Jared's brother potentially dying at the heads of famed serial killer, Matt Frank, the guys quickly jump into fan-favorite segment That Don't Look Good -- which is a three topic discussion this week. What doesn't look good this week? Well, we are glad you asked: Josh Brown, the New York Giants, and the incredible hoopla surrounding a rather disposable kicker. The finality of the Derrick Rose saga, which culminated with a judge and jury deciding to pander to a superstar athlete. Rick Pitino, Louisville, and the NCAA -- all of which our Joseph Nardone has hot-takes on. Don't worry, the Relatively Speaking Podcast isn't all about the seriousness nature of the world. We also help make you money! Week 7 NFL Picks: Colts at Titans Ravens at Jets Patriots at Steelers Seahawks at Cardinals Texans at Broncos After a rather wild start to the show, both Jared and Joseph somehow bounce back to break some news (for real). Returning to finish the show, making its second ever appearance in the pod, is a totally brand new, reinventing the wheel segment -- which is totally NOT Absurd Questions in a different form -- Ask Me Anything. Three or more questions were asked. Three or more questions were answered. You're welcome in advance, humans. Follow Jared on the mean streets of Twitter @JMintzHoops. The Relatively Speaking Podcast is here to help ease you into your workweek. Why? Because we have an unconditional love for our listeners, obviously. After bragging about being well above the .500 mark picking NFL games, some insights are discussed concerning the weekend's slate of games. To briefly highlight what is mentioned: The Dallas Cowboys, Dak Prescott, their offensive line, are all super awesome and we should worship Jerry Jones for being a genius. Tom Brady is not only still very much good looking, but he remains the best gunslinger in all of the National Football League. Are the Buffalo Bills good? Save for the Patriots, are there any other elite-level teams? And, of course, more! Bad Tweets returns this week. Joseph basically uses it as a platform to discuss the Nigel Hayes backlash even more... even though he wrote 2,000 words on it recently. Jared wants to discuss "The Heist of the Century" trade between the Chicago Bulls and Milwaukee Bucks! As for Absurd Questions, Joseph is interested in if Jared would drink a full gallon of creamer and Jared wants to know about eating food out of a can. It's complicated stuff, to be honest, so you just need to keep your ears open and listen. Be safe everyone. Don't text while driving -- or, for that matter, do advanced geometry while operating any form of vehicle. Follow Jared on the rough and tumble future-device known as Twitter @JMintzHoops. The Relatively Speaking Podcast is here to help you navigate what is hopefully the last day of your treacherous workweek. With all things being equal, even if you have to take the dangerous voyage to your place of employment throughout the weekend, we are still here to brighten your day. Carmelo Anthony is mad at SLAM for picking him as the 15th best player in the NBA. For some context, that is higher than most reputable outlets have him pegged at, and SLAM is much more a pop-culture magazine than it is one that often dabbles in NBA analysis. Jared and Joseph discuss Melo's anger. Jared thinks it is a bit misplace, and Joseph believes that the New York Knicks forward can be slotted pretty much anywhere between 12-20... depending on if he's had enough coffee on the day asked. Is the Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook mostly made up beef great for the NBA? Of course it is. That Don't Look Good returns to discuss the NFL's ratings. Joseph and Jared aren't buying a particular narrative many seem to be pushing as of late. Listen to find out what it is! NFL picks are here to help you save your marriage by way of winning all sorts of crazy loot. Week 6 Picks: 49ers at Bills Panthers at Saints Steelers at Dolphins Falcons at Seahawks Cowboys at Packers For what it is worth, both guys are well above the .500 mark on the season. Finally, a brand new segment on the Relatively Speaking Podcast. It is, uh, not really inventing the wheel, though. It's the Relatively Speaking Podcast's AMA... which is code for: Let's do Absurd Questions, but crowdsource from out listeners instead of doing it ourselves.…

The Relatively Speaking Podcast is here to help you come down from a post-debate world. Honestly, just ignore the inevitable zombie invasion that is lurking around the corner, and instead listen to two not-yet-zombies discuss the realm of sports. After Jared went 5-0 in his NFL picks over the weekend, he would like to declare himself champion of the world. When he is done gloating about his awesomeness, the guys move on to a different sort of greatness, which happens to be one Mr. Tom Brady. Brady returned to the New England Patriots on Sunday and looked every bit as great as one would expect. Other NFL thoughts discussed on the podcast this week are: Vikings and Sam Bradford. Dak Prescott and the Cowboys. The Texans having the worst QB since ever. Are the Eagles still good? Rex Ryan is a genius again? And other stuff. Did you know David Price is a good postseason pitcher? No? Well, neither did the Relatively Speaking Podcast co-hosts. It is why this week's Bad Tweet segment is dedicated to a person who believes a historically awful playoff pitcher was brought to Boston for his ability to be a good playoff pitcher. Absurd Questions are patently absurd this week. Joseph makes some weird Batman-to-politics allegory, while calling out Jared's friend as a serial killer, and Jared wants to know about toppings on pizza. You can find both of the hosts on Twitter. Where on those mean streets? Well, it is complicated. We are sick of catering to lazy millennials, so now you must find them like a game of Where's Waldo.…

The Relatively Speaking Podcast is back to help you ease into your weekend. Luckily for those who like the shooty-hoops, Jared and Joseph now have the ability to talk -- wait for it -- preseason NBA! What are the guys' biggest takes from the preseason so far? Joseph loves himself some Domantas Sabonis, Jared thinks the New York Knicks (still very much) stink, and the duo agree that the Golden State Warriors do indeed look like all that and a bag of chips. The NFL also gets discussed this week. What is going on with the San Francisco 49ers? Jared and Joseph have theories! Fan-favorite segment, That Don't Look Good, returns this week to discuss all the Odell Beckham Jr. hot-takes. Basically, it is apparently OK to play with a lot of emotion and fire... unless you play the receiver position. Week five NFL picks: Patriots at Browns Texans at Vikings Eagles at Lions Falcons at Broncos Giants at Packers Things On Our Mind isn't a jokey segment this week. Jared and Joseph would simply like to offer their thoughts to the people who are dealing with the hurricane this weekend. Also, Jared has finally started to watch Stranger Things. He agreed with Joseph on all his comparisons to the Goonies and old Stephen King mini-series he has been making over the last month or two. Exciting stuff, to be honest. The St. John's Red Storm are in a weird phase of its sixth-ish rebuild since the Lou Carnesecca came to an end in 1992. Chris Mullin is entering what will only be his second year (ever) coaching a basketball team, the squad remains disturbingly young, and the annual potential awakening of this New York sleeping giant always appears to prefer to hit the snooze button. What's a dark horse anyway? That's an important question to ask. In Today's U series of Major Conference Dark Horses, certain teams like Kentucky or Duke or Xavier, obviously need not apply. Nor do teams with an overwhelming surplus of hype. After all, how can the horse be in the shadows if everyone -- as well as their respective mothers -- is pounding their chest, screaming about how awesome that team will be. This makes this practice inherently odd. One must find a team who is a combination of not expecting to do well, with rather low expectations, but has the potential do magically find its way to the glorious land of over-achievement. This is where the Red Storm comes into play, as the aforementioned youth, which can be somewhat tied to the idea of potential, gives them a puncher's chance to knockout destiny. Don't get it wrong, however. The Johnnies enter the season a broken, flawed, and riddle with more questions than answers type of team. St. John's returns several key players of consequence. That's the good news. That bad, well, those important pieces to last season's squad only managed to win a grand total of eight collegiate basketball games. For those even inept in the math department, that is less than ideal. Still, those less than ideal players from a previously abominable team have potential. Each of them, with presumed growth, can help turn the Red Storm around. There's Federico Mussini. An irresponsibly confident player. The kind who is crazy fun to watch when playing well, but makes fans sick to their tummies whenever he hurls a 30-foot bomb. Mussini is an inefficient guard. As…

The Relatively Speaking Podcast is here to take you to the deepest parts of space. No. For real. Jared has a plan to join Elon Musk, and take us to Mars. As for Joseph, he just wants to know if he were to go there to be one of the first people to live on the planet, if he can then say "I am the best sportswriter on the planet." Anyway, Josh Gordon has entered rehab. While the timing of it, especially considering he is soon to come off suspension, is less than ideal, both of the hosts agree that it is far more important for Gordon to get mentally and physically healthy than it is to catch a football for an awful football team. NFL picks are back again this week. Joseph and Jared are 9-3 each -- which means, basically, you are rich if you listen to them speak on a sport they barely know... We are kidding obviously, as Joseph might as well be the offensive coordinator for the Oakland Raiders. This week's games: Bills at Patriots Browns at Redskins Titans at Texans Seahawks at Jets Chiefs at Steelers That Don't Look Good returns this week. Obviously, it means something in the world of sports isn't looking so swell from an optics standpoint. Listen to find out what it is this week. Jared also educates us on his ineptness as a human. He can't feed himself when his fiance is outside the house. Not because he is incapable of cooking, but he needs to be told what to eat. What a bum, in my humble opinion. Other sports stuff inside, too. Follow them on Twitter. You need to work for it, though, as we won't make it so easy for you by plugging it at the end of these here podcast posts that no one reads.…

It is Monday. Do you know what that means? Well, outside of the fact that you have five full days of sitting next to that jerk in the cubicle next to you, it also means the Relatively Speaking Podcast is back refreshed from a weekend of resting on its laurels. After starting the show to remember the lives of two of sports' recently deceased athletes, the discussion turns into other somber -- but not that somber -- turn of events in sports. Les Miles was fired from LSU. What's next for the program? Both Joseph and Jared agree that the Tigers aren't going to get a better coach than the man who eats grass. Paul Pierce is coming back for another NBA season, but he stinks. Chris Bosh is unlikely to ever play another game in the NBA due to blood clotting. This is sad, but it is important people realize that him playing basketball is not worth the very real risk of him dying. Joseph and Jared also send out heartfelt apologies to Trevor Siemian, who they said was the worst quarterback in the NFL. Using hindsight, we now know that the honor should have gone to Ryan SixPicktrick. Other NFL news and happenings are discussed. It is well worth your valuable time to hear the guys' hot-takes. One of them includes the decision to play a wide receiver at quarterback. Bad Tweets is about John Elway and small sample sizes. As for Absurd Questions: Your life will forever be changed after listening to that segment. Slight hyperbole, it is worth noting, might apply to that statement. You can follow the guys on Twitter, but only if you search for them.…
